King Argentin the Horse Makes Us Proud, Wins Triple Crown Title at the IHR-Indonesia Derby 2025

Kapanlagi.com - Indonesia has finally recorded a new history and ended an eleven-year wait with the birth of a horse capable of winning the Triple Crown title. This title was officially claimed by King Argentin from West Java, who won the Triple Crown of Indonesia after winning the 3-Year-Old Class Derby 2,000 meters at Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR)-Indonesia Derby 2025, which took place at the Sultan Agung Racecourse (SSA), Bantul, DI Yogyakarta on July 27, 2025.

It is a source of pride, the Triple Crown title is a symbol of supremacy in the world of horse racing awarded to a 3-year-old racehorse that can win three major championships in one season or the same year. In its journey, King Argentin is entitled to bear this title after sweeping the podium of the first place in the 3-Year-Old Class Derby 1,400 meters at the IHR-Triple Crown Series 1 in April 2025, the 3-Year-Old Class Derby 1,600 meters at the Triple Crown Series 2 in May 2025, and the 3-Year-Old Class Derby 2,000 meters at the IHR-Indonesia Derby 2025.

1. Prestigious Title IHR-Indonesia Derby 2025

The IHR-Indonesia Derby Horse Racing is one of the most prestigious horse racing events in Indonesia. Since its inception, this event has always attracted a lot of attention. The IHR-Indonesia Derby 2025 is the 5th event out of 10 horse racing events scheduled by SARGA.CO and PP PORDASI in IHR 2025, themed 'The Race of Rising Stars'.

This event features 156 horses and 54 jockeys. A total of 54 horses achieved podium positions and won a total prize of Rp1.2 Billion. The provinces of Central Java, East Java, and DKI Jakarta had the most podium finishers, with achievements of 12, 11, and 9 horses respectively.

King Halim Stable from West Java, Eclipse Stable, and Tombo Ati Stable from Central Java are the three stables with the most podium finishes, achieving 6, 5, and 4 times respectively. Meanwhile, jockeys Meikel Soleran and Trully Pantouw are the jockeys with the most podium finishes, each with 4 times.

3. Winning Horses in Prestigious Races

Out of the 18 races contested, the 3 most prestigious races are the 3-Year-Old Derby Class 2,000 meters, the 3-Year-Old Junior Class 1,600 meters, and the 2-Year-Old Beginner A/B Class 1,400 meters, with prizes of Rp300 million, Rp150 million, and Rp150 million, respectively. The horse Caraxes Nagari from North Sulawesi emerged as the winner in the 3-Year-Old Junior Class 1,600 meters, while the winner of the 2-Year-Old Beginner A/B Class 1,400 meters is the horse Maxi of Khalim from West Java.

4. King Argentin Wins Indonesia Triple Crown

King Argentin, entrusted to jockey Jemmy Runtu and trained by trainer Farooq Ali Khan, has become the third horse to win the Indonesia Triple Crown after Kuda Manik Trisula in 2002 and Kuda Djohar Manik in 2014.

"In 2005 and 2015, we had horses that almost won the Triple Crown title but failed in the last leg. This year, we were able to end that wait and make history with King Argentin's victory sweeping all three legs of the Triple Crown," said Kusnadi Halim from King Halim Stable, the owner of King Argentin who has been waiting for this title for 20 years.

5. Overflowing Spectators

The enthusiasm of the spectators was equally vibrant. The series of IHR-Indonesia Derby 2025, which began with the Sarga Festival on Saturday, July 26, attracted more than 36,000 spectators.

"So far, we have seen increasing enthusiasm for horse racing, both from participants and visitors, at every IHR championship we hold. The IHR-Indonesia Derby 2025 event has also received appreciation from the General Chairman of PP PORDASI, Aryo Djojohadikusumo.
