27 Years After Tupac Shakur's Death, a New Chapter Emerges as Suspected Mastermind of the Murder of the Legendary Rapper is Arrested

Kapanlagi.com - The murder case of Tupac Shakur, which occurred more than two decades ago, is still stored in the police files. Finally, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested a suspect on Friday (29/9/23) who is believed to be the mastermind behind the murder of the legendary rapper.

According to the Associated Press, the arrested suspect's name is Duane "Keffe D" Davis. He is suspected of being the mastermind behind the 1996 murder.

Davis is not a new figure in the investigation of Tupac Shakur's murder case. Since the beginning of the investigation, he has been one of the four suspects believed to be involved in the tragedy of the famous American rapper's murder.

Through a broadcasted press conference, Lieutenant Jason Johansson of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police revealed that the suspect planned the murder of Tupac Shakur. 

“Within his group, Duane Davis was the person who decided on the shooting, which was carried out by the perpetrator of this criminal incident,” stated Lieutenant Jason Johansson.

2. Confession in Memoir

Authorities revealed that the arrest of Duane Davis is related to his memoir titled “Compton Street Legend”, which was released in 2019. In the book, he admits to providing the gun used in the shooting. 

People also noted that in the book's description displayed on Amazon, Davis revealed that he was one of the three surviving witnesses of the murder of the legendary rapper Tupac Shakur.

3. Shooting of Tupac Shakur After Watching Boxing Match

On September 7, 1996, Tupac Shakur had just watched the Mike Tyson boxing match at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. After the match, Tupac sat in the front seat of a car and drove with Marion "Suge" Knight.

Shortly before the shooting incident, paparazzi had taken photos of the two of them. While stopped at a red light, Tupac and Knight were shot multiple times.

4. Suspect at the Shooting Location

As a result of the shooting, Knight suffered a head injury from a bullet grazing him. Meanwhile, Tupac Shakur was taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on September 13, 1996.

According to CNN, Duane "Keffe D" Davis was at the shooting location when the incident occurred. At the red light, he was in a Cadillac car stopped right next to Tupac's vehicle.
