Seeing this opportunity, Given Susanto and William Gomarga, two students from Jakarta, successfully built a perfume business on Shopee called Heura.

Met by the media at the Shopee Super Awards 2023 event, this 21-year-old man shared the story of how Heura brand was built.

"I have always liked using perfumes, but designer perfumes in the market are too expensive for some people, so William and I decided to create Heura," explained Given.

Positive Response from the Public

Initially, Heura conducted research and trials on the fragrance preferences of the Indonesian people. With limited budget, Heura decided to open online sales and found that the market responded positively to their products.

The decision to start selling on Shopee as the first platform was based on the view that Shopee can provide convenience for online shopping and is the top of mind e-commerce in the country. Heura wanted a more exclusive branding, so Shopee was considered the most suitable platform.

"We tried to make Heura 'different' with strong marketing strategies and product quality improvement. This success is reflected in a significant increase in sales, reaching tens of thousands of products sold every month and a year-on-year growth of around 150 to 200%," said Given.

As successful young entrepreneurs, Heura not only contributes to economic growth through their business but also provides job opportunities for 35 people.

Heura's success in utilizing the fragrance market potential in Indonesia and their ability to leverage features on Shopee that can significantly increase sales.

Able to Sell Hundreds of Products in the First Month

Although it has only been operating for one year since April 2022, Heura successfully attracts the attention of buyers by selling hundreds of products in the first month since its establishment.

Currently, its sales figures can reach thousands of products in one month. It is no wonder that Given and William's business has been crowned as Super Growing MSME at the Shopee Super Awards 2023.

"Honestly, we did not expect to be honored as Super Growing MSME at the Shopee Super Awards 2023. All we have been doing is focusing on studying our target market and learning how to optimize the features on Shopee that we use, such as advertisements, vouchers, and other programs that help boost Heura's sales, until we reach this point," said Given.

Shopee Super Awards 2023 itself is an award event for parties and figures who have contributed to the development of the digital economy together with Shopee technology in the past year.

In addition to MSMEs, various parties such as brand partners, seller partners, partners, and content creators who are included in the 33 categories of Shopee Super Awards 2023 were also present and enlivened this award event.
