BEAST 2020 Held Virtually, Featuring 'TOY STORY 4' and 'SPIDER-MAN' Film Animators

Kapanlagi.com - The COVID-19 pandemic did not prevent the Animation Workshop from organizing BEAST 2020 (CG Animation Workshop Festival). The difference is that this year the festival is held virtually.

BEAST 2020 is expected to enhance the competence of national animators & CG Artists. In this festival, stakeholders from the animation/games studio, practitioners, educational institutions, students/university students can exchange insights and information with each other.

This time, BEAST 2020 is supported by Gameloft Indonesia, which will also provide career opportunities in the gaming industry, both in Indonesia and abroad.

"The animation industry is one of the industries that tends to remain stable and even continue to grow during the global pandemic. Several animation studios, both for films, games, and the like, are still actively recruiting artists/talents to work in their companies. These studios are still busy providing animation services, both for TV series, games, and other platforms, for clients and content from abroad, such as Malaysia, Korea, Europe, and others. Therefore, we are holding the BEAST 2020 event online this time, to continue motivating and enhancing the competence of practitioners in our local industry," said Ronny Gani, the founder of the Animation Workshop.

Professional speakers in their respective fields will take turns providing materials, such as Jony Chandra (Head of Story Department at Blue Sky Studios) who was involved in the films Spies in Disguise, The Peanuts Movie, and Rio). There is also Paulie Alam (3D Animator at Pixar Animation) who was involved in the films Onward, Toy Story 4, and Coco. Furthermore, Evelyn Gunawan (3D Animator at Sony Picture Imageworks) who was involved in the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

In addition, BEAST 2020 will also feature speakers from animation companies located in Indonesia, such as MNC Animation, Brandoville Studios, and Studio Shoh Entertainment.

"We bring Indonesian Animation & CG (Computer Graphic) heroes who have succeeded in their careers in the world and international companies such as Blue Sky Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Sony Picture Imageworks, and others to share their experiences and insights, so that talents from our country can enhance their potential and skills and simultaneously improve the quality of production in our local animation industry in Indonesia," added Ronny.
