The UPTD Industrial Training Center (BLKI) of Bontang City made a splash again with the Alumni Tracer Study event. This event, held at the 3D Auditorium, Jalan Awang Long, North Bontang, on Thursday (27/11/2025), brought together alumni and industry practitioners to strengthen motivation, expand knowledge, and open broader job opportunities.

The Deputy Mayor of Bontang, Agus Haris, was present to open the event and deliver an important message about the increasingly competitive job market. According to him, technical skills alone are not enough; a professional attitude and strong character must also be part of the participants' identity.

"Your attitude must be maintained; you must know how to present yourself to convince companies that you are the ones deserving of this job," Agus emphasized.

He also reminded alumni who are still seeking employment to use the Tracer Study as a moment to learn directly from the source, namely those who have been in the industry for years. Meanwhile, those who are already working or interning are encouraged to continue honing their skills so as not to fall behind the times.

On this occasion, Agus expressed appreciation to the Head of UPTD BLKI Bontang City, Ismid Rizal, whom he considers has successfully expanded the training programs significantly in recent years.

"I also thank Mr. Ismid for advancing BLKI to have this many training programs. Because back in 2015–2016, there were only three training programs," he said.

He hopes that BLKI can continue to innovate, offer training based on industry needs, and strengthen partnerships with companies to increase the absorption of graduates into the workforce.

Meanwhile, the Head of UPTD BLKI Bontang City, Ismid Rizal, in his report mentioned that throughout this year there have been 672 participants who followed various training programs. From that number, the employment absorption rate reached 52 percent.

"Alhamdulillah this year, there are 672 people who participated in training at BLKI, and only 52 percent have been absorbed so far," explained Ismid.

To increase the number of graduates who obtain jobs, they continue to communicate with companies in Bontang and beyond. This cooperation is focused on ensuring that companies prioritize BLKI alumni as ready-to-work labor.

"We are working hard to establish cooperation with local companies in Bontang and outside the city, to utilize the human resources from BLKI Bontang participants who have not yet found placement," he said.

Ismid hopes that the presence of three speakers — Sholikul Darma Setyawan from PT KIE, Rizky Fajar Nugraha as a business owner, and Dimas Aryadiputra from PT KJS — can provide new insights and motivation for the alumni.

"With these three speakers, we hope that alumni and training participants will gain new enthusiasm," he concluded.

This Tracer Study activity is part of BLKI's ongoing program to ensure that graduates' competencies remain relevant to industry needs, while also strengthening the networking of alumni across various sectors.
