Family Receives UB Graduates' Death Certificates, Mother's Touching Message

Kapanlagi.com - Two Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Malang graduates, Muhammad Rizki Rafiandhika (Rafi) and Prayoga Avrian Wardana (Yoga), passed away just before the graduation ceremony on Saturday (24/02/2024).

Almarhum Rafi graduated from the Agribusiness Study Program in the Faculty of Agriculture, while Yoga graduated from the Sociology Study Program in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. Therefore, the 11th Period UB Graduation Ceremony took place with great sadness at the Samantha Krida Building on Saturday (24/02).

Rafi's presence was represented by his mother and father, Ir. Nunik Sri Andayani and Ir. Hadi Roseno, M.Sc., who received the certificates directly from the UB Rector. Meanwhile, Yoga was represented by his close friend and college mate.

1. Entering UB in 2014

Nunik recounted that her son was accepted as a student of Agribusiness in the Faculty of Agriculture at UB in the 2014 batch through a non-test or National Selection for State Universities. The deceased was the youngest of three siblings.

Because of that, Rafi was very close to his mother. In addition, the deceased liked to socialize and had many friends, even later establishing a cafe with his college friends.

"Because he was working, his studies were a little delayed. And after completing his thesis defense, he said, 'I'm sorry, Mom, my task is finished,'" said the mother.

2. Cause of Death

Rafi passed away on February 4, 2023, due to an autoimmune disease. He had received treatment before then relapsing and being pronounced dead.

"He had never been seriously ill since he was a child, the incident happened so quickly, four days of hospitalization, then discharged and received outpatient treatment, but a few days later he complained of pain again, was admitted to the ICU, and passed away," she said.

3. Responsible Figure

Nunik expresses her gratitude to her son's thesis supervisor, Dr. Rachman Hartono, S.P., M.P. Because during the guidance, he continuously maintained communication with the family.

Meanwhile, Rafi's older brother, Nizar Rizki Firstyadhika, added that the deceased was a responsible, caring, and attentive person towards the family. Although he was the youngest child, he was never spoiled, but rather very mature in dealing with every problem.

"He also cared deeply for his young nephews, often playing with them. Even in his final moments, he never complained of pain and never troubled us all,” Nizar said.

4. Represented by Fellow Graduate

Meanwhile, the deceased Prayoga Avrian Wardana's diploma was represented by a fellow graduate, Wignaya Saraswati. The deceased's parents were unable to attend due to health issues.

Yoga was also registered as a Sociology student at FISIP UB through the SNMPTN pathway in 2015. He hailed from Banyuwangi, the son of Dwi Jaya Hadi Utomo, S.H. and Dewi Darmayanti, S.H.

5. The Late Figure in the Eyes of Friends

Wignaya conveyed that Yoga was a cheerful figure, always spreading positive energy to those around him. The late person was persistent and full of enthusiasm in pursuing his dreams and loved his family and closest people.

Yoga passed away on April 29, 2023, due to pneumonia. During his studies, he was also treated for gastric acid.

"We were classmates and close friends from the thesis process to graduation," said Naya.
