Fadli Zon, who attended the event, symbolically handed over the SK to senior comedian figures, including Jarwo Kwat and Komeng, who represent the Indonesian Comedy Artists Association (PASKI) and other comedy professionals.
"Tonight I am very happy to be invited to the 5th Indonesian Comedy Awards, by Mr. Jarwo Kwat, and also Mr. Komeng, to hand over the SK for the Establishment of Indonesian Comedy Day," said Fadli Zon.

The establishment of the date September 27 is not without reason. This date was chosen as the highest form of tribute to one of the greatest legends that Indonesia has ever had, Bing Slamet. National Comedy Day will now be celebrated on the same day as the maestro's birthday.
"Which coincides with the birthday of an extraordinary multi-talented Indonesian comedy figure, a maestro, Bing Slamet, which is on September 27," he said.

According to Fadli Zon, this proposal is an aspiration that has long been voiced by comedians from various organizations. The choice of Bing Slamet's birth date has also become a decision made by acclamation, considering his significant influence and contribution to the entertainment arts in Indonesia.
"This has been a long-standing aspiration from my fellow comedy artists from PASKI and other organizations, and I think by acclamation, we propose that September 27 be declared Indonesian Comedy Day," explained Fadli Zon.

Furthermore, he emphasized that this establishment is expected to become an important momentum. Not only as a marker but also as a profound appreciation for the figure of Bing Slamet, who is so inspiring.
"What we hope for is that this becomes a momentum, a marker, and an appreciation for the figure of Bing Slamet," he stated.

Fadli Zon also reminisced about the extraordinary talent possessed by Bing Slamet. He was not only a great comedian with his legendary group, Quartet Jaya, but also a talented singer and musician who starred in dozens of films.
"Because Bing Slamet, I think, is a very inspiring comedian; his group, if I'm not mistaken, was Quartet Jaya, and he was also a singer, a musician, and his name is remarkable in many films, perhaps around a dozen or 20 films played by Bing Slamet, inspiring many Indonesian artists," he said.

With the handing over of this decree, the National Comedy Day celebration will be held for the first time. All comedians and the Indonesian public now have a special day to celebrate the laughter and works of local comedians.
"So, the Indonesian Ministry of Culture hands it over to Mr. Jarwo Kwat, Mr. Komeng, and other friends; hopefully, we will celebrate for the first time on September 27 coming up," concluded Fadli Zon.
