Indonesian Citizen Dies from Coronavirus in Singapore, First COVID-19 Death Case There

Kapanlagi.com - Singapore announced that two patients tested positive for coronavirus have died on Saturday (3/21/2020). This is the first death case in the neighboring country after more than three hundred people were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

As reported by Channel News Asia, one of the two deceased individuals is an Indonesian male citizen referred to as patient with code number Case 212. The man passed away at the age of 64.

1. Previously Treated in Indonesia

According to Singapore's Minister of Health, Gan Kim Young, Case 212 was previously treated at a hospital in Indonesia on March 9 for pneumonia. The patient then arrived in Singapore on March 13 to receive treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

Upon arrival, the patient was in critical condition. The next day, the deceased was also confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus.

2. Experience Complications

During the treatment, the patient experienced serious complications and eventually passed away on Saturday (21/3/2020) at 10.15 AM local time, after nine days of being treated in the ICU. The deceased was also mentioned to have a connection with patient with code Case 289, who is a 62-year-old man from Singapore.
