Mugger Threatens with a Knife and Steals Motorcycle and Bag

Kapanlagi.com - The perpetrator of a mugging in Malang, East Java threatened his victim by brandishing a knife. The perpetrator, later identified as Ahmad Faiz Satu Romsi (37), made threats while attempting to steal the victim's motorcycle and bag.

Public Relations Officer of Malang Police, Ipda Nining Husumawati, recounted that the victim, a factory worker, was riding her Honda Beat motorcycle. The victim usually leaves for work around 05:30 AM.
However, on her way on Jalan Perusahaan Desa Randuagung, Singosari District, she was stopped by a man brandishing a knife.

"When the victim was about to turn, she was suddenly stopped by the suspect. The perpetrator pushed the victim to get off the motorcycle while threatening her with a weapon," said Nining Husumawati on Sunday (3/5).

The perpetrator immediately took control of the victim's motorcycle, who was shocked and scared at the time. Not only that, the perpetrator also targeted a work bag carried by the victim.

"The perpetrator chased the victim who ran into an alley. The perpetrator continued to follow and took the victim's bag containing a cellphone and other items," he said.

2. Successfully Arrested

The victim reported the incident to the Singosari Police Station in Malang Regency, before efforts were made to chase the perpetrator. The suspect, known as a resident of Lawang District, Malang Regency, was successfully arrested on Sunday at 01.45 AM by the Criminal Investigation Unit of Singosari Police Station.

The perpetrator is charged with Articles 365 and 368 of the Indonesian Penal Code regarding violent theft and robbery. Evidence such as a motorcycle, cellphone, white bag, work bag, and mask were also seized from the suspect. In addition, a sharp weapon used to threaten the victim was also found.
