This was revealed by the General Manager of the Indonesia Medical Tourism Board (IMTB) Bali Nusra, Putu Deddy Suhartawan, who stated that with the support of competent resources, Bali will be developed as a medical tourism destination. There is even one hospital that has an international certificate.

"And there is one hospital that has been certified by ACHS, the Australian Council Health Service. The only one in Indonesia," said Putu Deddy Suhartawan as quoted from Liputan6.com, Tuesday (3/11/2020).

From previous experiences such as the Bali Bombings I and II to the Covid-19 pandemic, Deddy revealed that there is always improvement in the Island of Gods, especially in terms of health.

Therefore, foreign tourists are also willing to use the existing medical services in Bali to enjoy their vacation and the beauty of nature.

The health services in Bali for Balinese tourists are diverse, with a focus on cosmetic services. However, there are also non-invasive services, with a monthly average of 60 patients and a revenue of Rp1.2 billion.

"But at that time, each hospital acted independently, sporadically. What we will do now is to coordinate and collaborate, as hospitals do have facilities that can be sold, especially to foreign patients. Combined with hotels," said Deddy.

The health service on the Island of Bali has the potential to be good. Like with tourists from Australia, China, and India last year, they were the top customers for medical tourism in Bali.

However, the pandemic prevents foreign tourists from visiting the island, so IMTB has shifted its target to domestic tourists.

"Especially now if it is promoted or emphasized for domestic [tourism]. There is potential. Those who often go abroad to check their health, whether they like it or not, they can't go out," said Deddy.
