The figure of the Head of Search and Rescue, Air Marshal TNI Muhammad Syaugi, has become the focus regarding the developments in the evacuation of the Lion Air JT 610 crash.
This high-ranking officer of the Indonesian Air Force is leading the operation to search for victims and the wreckage of Lion Air JT 610.
When President Jokowi visited the Crisis Centre, Syaugi provided updates regarding the search for the aircraft and victims to Jokowi.
He also visited the post at Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) to see the items that have been found.
He was also at the forefront to answer every question from the journalists present at the location.
In fact, it is not uncommon for foreign journalists to cover this sensational event as well.
Air Vice Marshal TNI Muhammad Syaugi was born in Malang, December 10, 1960. He is a graduate of the Air Force Academy in 1984 with expertise in controlling F-16 fighter jets, and has logged around 2,000 flight hours.
He was just appointed as the Head of Basarnas in February 2017, replacing Air Vice Marshal TNI F.H. Bambang Soelistyo who has entered retirement.
