The Pedestrian Bridge (JPO) in the Daan Mogot area, West Jakarta, suddenly went viral recently. This was due to the steel material for the stairs and side of the stairs being missing, leaving only the frame. This situation certainly endangered pedestrians who used the Daan Mogot pedestrian bridge for their activities.

Fortunately, after going viral and becoming a topic of discussion, the pedestrian bridge was quickly repaired and is now safe for use. Here are some recent photos of the Daan Mogot pedestrian bridge!

The initial condition of the Daan Mogot overpass before repairs. About ten steps made of steel material were missing, causing users of the overpass to be cautious. According to local residents, this incident has indeed occurred multiple times.

The Jakarta Public Works Department promptly responded to the condition of the Daan Mogot overpass and immediately made repairs so it can be safely used again.

According to Liputan6, temporarily the missing material has been patched with aluminum and to make it stronger, it has also been drilled.

According to the Head of the DKI Jakarta Public Works Department, Heru Suwondo, the material from the Daan Mogot overpass has often been stolen since 2022. The materials used for this bridge indeed have a high resale value.

The Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Rano Karno, also reviewed the Daan Mogot overpass after it went viral. He also acknowledged that it is indeed prone to theft.

Monitoring at several overpasses has often been carried out by the Satpol PP, although not intensively for 24 hours. The provincial government also plans to add CCTV around the overpass to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
