PPKM Extended to Level 4, Here are the Travel Requirements When Taking the Train

That is why the government implemented an emergency PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions) in early July until July 20, 2021. With the implementation of PPKM, many activities have been halted, although some are still allowed to proceed with strict health protocols.

After implementing the emergency PPKM for 2 weeks, there has been some progress in curbing the increase in Covid-19 cases. Therefore, the government is now implementing Level 4 PPKM, effective from July 26, 2021. With the enforcement of Level 4 PPKM, there are several requirements that must be followed by the public.

Level 4 PPKM is a type of PPKM that is almost similar to the emergency PPKM, but with slightly more relaxed restrictions to allow economic activities, especially for small communities, to resume, such as traditional markets, street vendors, and restaurants, which must still adhere to the health protocols properly.

Even traveling outside the area is now allowed, but with certain conditions that must be met. One of them is to follow strict health protocols and have a vaccination card. For those who want to use train transportation, there are several requirements that must be fulfilled. Here are some mandatory requirements if you want to travel using train facilities.

1. Requirements for Local Trains and KRL

The operation of train transportation during level 4 PPKM has been effectively implemented on July 26, 2021. This local train regulation is applied in agglomeration areas such as Jabodetabek and Bandung Raya.

For local train users, there is no need to show a vaccination card or RT-PCR test certificate or negative rapid test results. However, KAI will still conduct random antigen rapid tests on customers at the station.

However, local train users are only allowed for those working in essential and critical sectors. This must also be proven with a Worker Registration Certificate (STRP) or other certificate issued by the local government or a letter of assignment from the company's management.

2. Yogyakarta-Solo KRL

For those of you who use KAI Commuter facilities on the Yogyakarta-Solo route, this service will resume operations on July 26, 2021 and will only operate 20 trips. The Yogyakarta-Solo KRL journey starts from 05.05 am until 06.30 pm.

As for the Prambanan Express Train, it will only operate 8 trips a day. The Prambanan Express Train will operate from 05.15 am until 05.35 pm only. As quoted from merdeka.com through the official @commuterline account, the Yogyakarta-Solo KRL only uses 3 train sets, with a maximum of 1 train filled with 52 people.

This is done referring to Circular Letter of the Ministry of Transportation No.50 of 2021. Meanwhile, the Prambanan Express Train uses 4 train sets, where 1 train/carriage is only allowed to be filled to 50 percent of the maximum capacity. So for those of you who want to use train facilities, you must know the applicable schedule and requirements.
