Promote Regional Uniqueness, Local MSME Booth from South Kalimantan Captivates Attention at the Nusantara Textile Parade 2025

Kapanlagi.com - The Nusantara Textile Parade organized by Fimela successfully opened on August 8, 2025. This grand event, which runs until August 10, 2025, showcases the cultural richness of traditional fabrics from various regions in Indonesia. On the first day, the typical Sasirangan from South Kalimantan got a stage that made it shine even brighter.

The South Kalimantan Provincial Government, through the Communication and Information Office (Kominfo), fully supports the organization of this event. The Head of the Kominfo Office of South Kalimantan, Muhamad Muslim, was present at the event and expressed his appreciation.

"This Nusantara Textile Parade is a great platform to promote the uniqueness of regional fabrics. This is a great opportunity for us in South Kalimantan to showcase our pride in textiles, and what was displayed earlier was truly amazing," he said.

According to Muslim, events like this are a tangible form of support for the development of local potential, especially in advancing regional creativity and introducing superior products to a wider audience.

"We did not expect that the sasirangan fabric, which was originally local, could be so stunning after being creatively transformed, and I think it deserves to go international," he continued.

The Nusantara Textile Parade provides an opportunity for local MSMEs to have their stage. This is also the background for South Kalimantan to support this event.

Muslim mentioned that the Sasirangan fabric has unique motifs, rich in philosophy, and different compared to textiles from other regions, making it worthy of being introduced more widely to the market. One of the platforms for this is an event like the Nusantara textiles.

MSME Booth with Charming Creations

Looking further into the MSME booth from the Province of South Kalimantan, visitors can see the collection of MSME Sasirangan Duan showcasing various products based on Sasirangan fabric. This MSME is run by Duan (33), a young entrepreneur from Banjarmasin who has been engaged in this business since 2013.

"Because it's a hobby, it feels like there are no challenges; it's just enjoyed as a process," said Duan.

For more than a decade, Duan has produced various creative products made from Sasirangan, ranging from silk fabrics, clothing, hijabs, to bags. All are designed with a modern touch while maintaining a traditional feel.

During the Nusantara Textile Parade 2025 event, Duan felt proud because his products received positive responses from visitors. "The event is very good because it can introduce Sasirangan fabric from various regions. Not only that, but textiles from all over Indonesia also get elevated and become more recognized by the public," he expressed enthusiastically.

Interestingly, Duan's MSME was directly chosen by the Chairperson of the South Kalimantan Dekranasda, Hj. Fathul Jannah Muhidin, to represent South Kalimantan at this event.

"We didn’t register, but were directly chosen by the Chairperson because she herself uses our products. It feels very proud and grateful," said Duan.

According to Duan, events like this can continue and expand so that more MSMEs and traditional fabrics from various regions can be widely recognized, both nationally and internationally.

He hopes that through this event, traditional Indonesian fabrics can become more recognized, not just at the national level, but also internationally, and become part of the lifestyle of the wider community.
