Kapanlagi.com - Indonesia Fashion Chamber (IFC) once again held the SPOTLIGHT Indonesia event, this year collaborating with Gemalindo Kreasi Indonesia as the event organizer. The event, which was successfully held from December 12-15, 2024, at the Assembly Hall, Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), carries the theme Cultural Fusion.

Entering its third year of implementation, SPOTLIGHT Indonesia once again proves its consistency in celebrating cultural diversity, textiles, and crafts of Indonesia with a fresh concept through contemporary fashion as the hallmark of Indonesian fashion products in the global market. SPOTLIGHT Indonesia is targeted to be a highlight in promoting Indonesia as a global destination for ready-to-wear fashion products based on sustainability concepts, emphasizing the use of textiles, culture, and local resources as well as handmade craftsmanship.

1. Collaboration of Designers, Artisans, and Fashion Lovers

This cultural fashion event consists of a fashion show and exhibition, complemented by competitions, workshops, talk shows, fashion installations, and more, aiming to bring together and facilitate collaboration among designers, artisans, and fashion enthusiasts. By promoting inclusivity and sustainability while preserving adaptive culture, SPOTLIGHT Indonesia showcases the diversity of works from over 100 Indonesian designers and brands, covering formal wear, casual/street wear, men’s wear, and modest wear, which is expected to strengthen the fashion industry in Indonesia.

"This year, the organization of SPOTLIGHT is more special. Unlike previous years, we are taking place at JCC to accommodate the growing and diverse enthusiasm of fashion players. SPOTLIGHT always prioritizes local textiles and culture so that it can serve as a showcase and meeting space for the Indonesian fashion industry from upstream to downstream. It is hoped that it can also bring forth the strength of the Indonesian culture-based industry that will realize a proud identity for Indonesian-made fashion products," said Lenny Agustin, National Chair of the Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC) in her opening remarks at SPOTLIGHT Indonesia 2024.

2. Muslim Fashion Parade

In the opening ceremony of SPOTLIGHT Indonesia 2024, a Muslim fashion parade was featured as part of the Road to IN2MF 2025 presented by Bank Indonesia, namely Risa Maharani Basic supported by the Representative Office (KPw) of Bank Indonesia Prov. Central Java, Dwico supported by KPw Bank Indonesia Prov. Bali, Hannie Hananto x Batik HUZA, Maharrani supported by KPw Bank Indonesia Prov. West Sumatra, BOOLAO supported by KPw Bank Indonesia Prov. West Java, meLOOKmeL supported by KPw Bank Indonesia Prov. DKI Jakarta, Riris Ghofir supported by KPw Bank Indonesia Prov. East Java, andai by aldrie, KURSIENKARZAI, and Nuniek Mawardi.

The collection of Muslim fashion continues to be showcased in the SPOTLIGHT Indonesia event, considering the strengths of Muslim fashion as a future economic force for Indonesia, especially for the international market. With this consideration, every fashion event initiated by IFC will consistently involve the Muslim fashion sector, even in small proportions. Likewise, the conventional fashion sector will also remain a focus for IFC to ensure that the entire sector of the domestic fashion industry can develop in a balanced manner.

3. Appreciation of Designers and Brands

The showcase of works on the SPOTLIGHT Indonesia runway, with stage setup including lighting, choreography, and ornaments, became a fashion and art performance at the closing of the opening day featuring collections from Sofie, Irmasari Joedawinata, JYK by Jenny Yohana Kansil, Bramanta Wijaya, Interim Clothing, Anggie Rachmat, MAZULABEL by Marini Zumarnis, NATS Wear, Billy Tjong, Opie Ovie X Miss Mysa Accessories, and OLANYE by Eko Tjandra.

To appreciate designers and brands that consistently focus on sustainable fashion, SPOTLIGHT Indonesia held a competition that provides opportunities for selected participants to showcase their works in a fashion show. The curation results crowned House of Inang as the "Best Sustainable Brands" from SPOTLIGHT Indonesia 2024.

4. Celebration of Indonesia's Fashion Diversity
