Kapanlagi.com - Not many people know in detail about Indonesia's struggle for independence. There needs to be someone or a historical figure who tells the nation's history in detail.

This is also aimed at ensuring that the current generation holds the philosophy that a great nation is one that respects its fighters or heroes.

This is the basis for the launch of the book titled 'PALAGAN CIREBON'. This history-themed book consists of 284 pages and was officially launched at Gedung Joang 45 Jakarta on Thursday (23/6/2022).

1. Struggle-Themed Book

The book's author, Sri Pasifik, said that the book launch is a reminder of the struggle of the Yon 400 Cirebon Student Soldiers that cannot be separated from the struggle for Indonesian independence.

He added that the Student Soldiers referred to were young fighters aged 15-20 as the spearhead of Indonesia's struggle at that time.

"This book is named PALAGAN CIREBON because the Student Soldiers were originally from the Siliwangi Battalion," said Sri Pasifik during the book launch.

2. Inseparable Part

According to her, the struggle of the Student Army Yon 400 Cirebon is an inseparable part of the history of Indonesian independence. Yon 400 Cirebon itself is an elite and official organization founded on March 24, 1947.

Sri Pasifik added that some of the Student Army members presented in the book PALAGAN CIREBON, include Yogi S Memet, Sutadi Sukarya, and Saleh Basarah.

One of the children of the Student Army, Sutadi Sukarya, Baskara Harimukti expressed his gratitude when his late father's struggle was told in the book 'PALAGAN CIREBON'.

"Thank you to Mrs. Sri Pasifik and Mrs. Sri Murdiningsih who have presented the struggle of the Student Army at that time, including my father: Sutardi Sukarya," said Baskara.

3. Preserving Independence

According to her, the most important thing now is to preserve independence. Because independence is not something that is easily obtained.

"Our task is to maintain and defend the independence of this nation in accordance with what is stated in the 1945 Constitution and Pancasila," she said.

4. Becoming the Choice of the People

Sri Pasifik also hopes that with the launch of the book 'PALAGAN CIREBON', it will become the choice of the Indonesian people, especially young people, to continue to fight for the progress and glory of Indonesia.

"The struggle and glory of a country lies in the hands or aspirations of young people," concluded Sri Pasifik.
