Tourist Missing in Mount Bromo, Leaving Behind Motorcycle and Cellphone

Kapanlagi.com - Tourist Roni Nur Efendi (20) disappeared mysteriously, leaving behind several personal belongings. The man from Mangliawan, Pakis, Malang Regency left his motorcycle, helmet, jacket, and cellphone in Blok Pusung Duwur, the area of Mount Bromo.

The news of Roni's disappearance began with the discovery of his motorcycle and several items left behind by officials. The items were found on Sunday (19/6) in Blok Pusung Duwur around 12:35 PM.

Syarif Hidayat, Head of the Sub-Division of Data Evaluation, Reporting, and Public Relations of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS), said that the items were found after a garbage cleaning activity around the sand sea area.

"Around the motorcycle, a cellphone, shoes, a helmet, and a woodie jacket were found. After waiting for the owner for 4 hours, the items were secured at the resort," said Syarif Hidayat when confirmed on Monday (20/6).

1. Immediate Search Conducted

In the afternoon around 4:30 PM, the owner's sibling came to the resort's office. At that time, a search was immediately conducted by the family and officials by combing through several locations.

"Then we searched together again until 7:15 PM, but found nothing," he said.

2. Coordination with Police

Officials have coordinated with the police and partners for the search. However, until now, there has been no result regarding the whereabouts of the person.

Roni left with 7 of his friends on Saturday (18/6) around 10:00 PM to Mount Bromo via Nongkojajar, Pasuruan. On Sunday (19/6), they were still together in the Bromo Sand Sea.

3. Bidding Farewell and Going Home Early

The next victim said goodbye to their friends and went home early via Tumpang, Malang. However, the victim sent a message and shared their location through a WhatsApp group to ask for help because they were facing trouble.

The victim's friends tried to find the location to provide assistance, but then a message appeared saying that the victim had been picked up by their relative.
