UKM Rises to the Next Level Through Business Matching at BSI International Expo 2024, Helping Expand Networks Abroad! Business matching session at BSI International Expo 2024

Kapanlagi.com - For small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), being able to increase sales scale and penetrate foreign markets is a big dream that they want to achieve. Especially for many SMEs that have successfully created high-quality products, they certainly hope that their flagship products are not only enjoyed by the public, but also attract consumers in other countries.

Unfortunately, the lack of information and supporting facilities becomes a barrier to realizing this dream. This is what hinders SMEs from expanding their networks and strategic partnerships with foreign businesses.

This support is provided by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). As a bank that has helped many SME partners to grow and develop, BSI continues to provide support for eligible SME partners to 'upgrade' in order to expand their business networks abroad through the BSI International Expo 2024 event that has taken place.

150 SMEs Participate in Business Matching Every Day

The BSI International Expo 2024 was successfully held on June 20-23, 2024 at JCC Senayan. In this event, BSI opened Business Matching opportunities every day, bringing together SME players with buyers from various countries such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, England, Tunisia, Bangladesh, UAE, Malaysia, Turkey, Japan, Australia, the Philippines, and others, both offline (in-person meetings) and online (live streaming).

Around 150 SMEs participated in this agenda every day. On the second day of the BSI International Expo 2024, several SMEs participated in the session. Starting from PT Gadih Minang Anugerah (rendang), PT Bunly Abadi Bersama (cashew nuts), Kopi Ketjil, Roti Ropi, Elinor Jewelry, Ciomy Cuanki Kereta, Mbrebes Mili Food (fried onions), Gula Joek Aceh, Abon Mak Kido, and many more.

Before participating in the agenda, SMEs must register themselves at BSI first. Next, their products go through a curation process until they are deemed suitable to be presented in front of foreign buyers. If lucky, they will not only be able to sell at the exhibition booth, but also secure purchasing contracts from foreign buyers.

The Success Stories of SMEs in Getting Deals

One of the SMEs that was fortunate enough to get a deal with foreign buyers is Lily Nuryah, the owner of PT Bunly Abadi Bersama. She produces cashew nuts under the brand name Bunly, which originates from Makassar, South Sulawesi.

As the owner, Lily shared her experience of participating in a business matching event on Friday (21/06/2024) and securing a purchasing contract from Tunisia. She felt happy because the Tunisian buyer was interested in the variant of cashew nuts she produced and immediately gave a contract worth USD20,000.

For the woman residing in Makassar, the bigger her business grows, the greater the opportunity she has to create job opportunities for people around her. Moreover, in addition to getting contracts from abroad, Lily also mentioned that she has made a deal with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) to supply her products for marketing in the train networks of Java and Sulawesi.

Wow, it's really amazing to see local SMEs expanding their product networks to foreign countries! Hopefully, this can inspire other SMEs to improve their quality and be smart in seizing business opportunities. Keep waiting for other BSI events!
