Victims Dragged by Waves at Long Beach in Malang Found in Tulungagung, Two Others Still Missing

Kapanlagi.com - One of the five victims of tourists dragged by waves at Long Beach in Malang was found in Tulungagung. The body of the victim named I Made Indraprastha (42) was found floating around Popoh Beach, Besole Village, Besuki District, Tulungagung Regency, bordering Trenggalek Regency.

Muhamad Hariyadi, Head of the Search and Rescue Office of BASARNAS Surabaya, said that a joint team was conducting a search for the victims who have not been found. The search was conducted at sea using traditional boats (perahu jukung) and on land.

Previously, the team found a paddle board in the Babakan Temu Bangkai area to the east of Seling Ombo Beach, which entered the search area of SRU (Search and Rescue Unit) 3.

"The team and the Popoh Fishermen's Association found one body at a location with coordinates 8° 18' 16" S 112° 53' 50" E, or about 67.3 km from the incident location," he said.

1. Identified Corpse

The identification results from the INAFIS team state that the corpse found is named I Made Indraprastha (42). A wristwatch was found on the victim's body, and physical characteristics including a broken paddle board rope were identical and similar to the deceased. This characteristic was also confirmed by the victim's family when we confirmed it earlier.

Made Indraprastha was a tour leader for a group of exchange students from the Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University (FK UB). He was swept away by the waves while trying to help when two foreign nationals in his group were swept away by the waves at Jembatan Panjang Beach, South Malang.

2. 2 Victims Still Missing

Previously, two victims named Ana Brieva Ramirez (23), a Spanish student, and Muhammad Ruspandi (24), a tour leader, were found safe. Ana was found after being stranded on an uninhabited island overnight.

Muhammad Ruspandi (24) or Pendik was found alive by the South Coast Rescue SAR team. He was found floating in the sea 0.5 miles from the incident location.

Meanwhile, up until now, two victims have not been found, namely Janna Olivia Soland (24), a Swiss student, and a tour guide named Bayu (Ciliwung Camp).
