In the Special Video Talks session, Mira Lesmana emphasized that short films are an important space for beginner filmmakers. She mentioned that short films serve as a business card as well as a concept test leading to a feature film debut on the big screen. Moreover, through short films, creators experiment with concepts and drive more innovative creativity, take risks, and push the boundaries of style, content, and structure.
"They not only find experience, face limitations, experiment with style and professionalism, and create their first film to continue their careers in filmmaking." said Mira Lesmana.

Yandy Laurens also shared his experiences. He talked about the early days of not knowing many films and starting from simple stories. He emphasized that anyone can make a film, even just with a smartphone.
"Short films are a safe space for growth, just go ahead and make it, don't be too afraid. You just have to start," said Yandy Laurens.
For him, every project he works on is always treated like making an honest short film, focused, and without excessive compromises.

Khozy Rizal shared his creative process in making the film Annisa to Lika-Liku Kali. He was inspired by discussions with the late John Badalu about how short films can create narrative breakthroughs. Khozy has a special message for filmmakers.

Along with this event, Vidio announced three winners of the JAFF 2025 short film competition. Each winner received a prize of Rp150 million and an exclusive mentoring session with industry figures such as Mira Lesmana, Khozy Rizal, and Yandy Laurens. The announcement of the Vidio Film Competition winners was made by the judges Shanty Harmayn and Yosep Anggi Noen.
The three announced films consist of the film TONIGHT WE ARE ALL SHIPS with producer & writer Fala Pratika and director Rizqullah Panggabean, the film DREAM THIEF produced by Softhy Pratiwi and directed by Ayesha Alma Almera, and the film RICE with producer Winner Wijaya and director Ester E. Umbu Tara.
"I am definitely very happy, thank you Vidio for giving us the opportunity to create." said the winner of the film TONIGHT WE ARE ALL SHIPS.
Meanwhile, the winner of DREAM THIEF hopes that their work can be enjoyed by many people.
