Menkominfo explained that as of October 10, 2021, the number of people who have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine has reached 100 million people. Meanwhile, 57.5 million of them have received complete vaccination doses.

Achieved Within 10 Months

The first dose vaccination for 100 million people was achieved within a 10-month period since the first injection of the Covid-19 vaccine to President Joko Widodo on January 13, 2021. This achievement certainly cannot be separated from the participation of the entire Indonesian nation, both from the private sector, community organizations, communities, and all layers of society.

"Starting from importing vaccines to Indonesia, distributing vaccines, administering vaccines, to monitoring the vaccination process, involving many parties. Therefore, the government highly appreciates all parties who have worked hard in the vaccination program. Collaboration and mutual assistance are the keys to this achievement," said Johnny again.

Vaccination for the Elderly Continues to Increase

In addition, Menkominfo Johnny also explained that positive achievements can also be seen in the realization of vaccination for the elderly, which continues to increase. Until October 10, 2021, approximately 7 million elderly people have received their first dose of vaccination, and around 4.6 million of them have received complete vaccination doses. "Despite the increase, it is still necessary to accelerate in order to protect the elderly group faster," he emphasized. Vaccination for teenagers has reached 4 million people. Among them, 2.8 million have received complete vaccination or two vaccine injections. "Invite our teenage children to get the Covid-19 vaccine soon so that they are better protected when conducting Limited Face-to-Face Education," said Mengkominfo Johnny. The government ensures to work harder to achieve 70% vaccination target by the end of this year. Mengkominfo urges everyone to work together to achieve this target. "The government urges to continue wearing masks, this should not be forgotten. We should not be complacent because there are still other countries experiencing an increase in cases," he said.
