This gown was created by designer Gaurav Gupta, who embraced the theme Bravehearts. "Bravehearts is about transformation—emotional, physical, and cross-generational. When creating this outfit for Kiara, we wanted to honor her role as a mother while also paying tribute to the bold elegance of Black Style. This appearance bridges history, merging deep symbolism with the radical refinement of Black dandyism," wrote Gaurav on his personal page @gauravguptaofficial.
"The essence of this look is the gold metal chest protector shaped like a heart, adorned with crystals and ghungroo (small bells). From this protector emerges a Small Heart for the child – connected by fine chains that form an abstract umbilical cord. Together, they symbolize protection, lineage, and the gentle strength of motherhood passed down from one generation to the next. A reminder that the struggles we face – for identity, dignity, and self-expression – are never faced alone," wrote Gaurav.
This dress is complemented by the white cape worn by André Leon Talley at the MET Gala 2010. Making it a perfect combination.
