The Head of Soekarno Hatta Airport Police, Kombes Pol Ronald F.C Sipayung, revealed the latest developments in the case of smuggling the substance etomedite which involves the name of actor Jonathan Frizzy alias Ijonk. This was conveyed during a press conference at the Soekarno Hatta Airport Police, Monday (5/5/2025).
"Yes, related to public figures, from the four cases we are handling, there is one case that we initially received a referral from customs. Specifically on March 13, 2025, customs officers secured a passenger who had just arrived from Malaysia carrying the substance etomedite," said Kombes Pol Ronald F.C Sipayung.
From the investigation, the police successfully arrested a suspect with the initials TBR who was bringing goods from abroad. The arrest continued with a second suspect, ER, and from both of them emerged the name JF, who was known to have created a WhatsApp group to organize the distribution of the substance.
"From the statements of these two suspects, the name JF (Ijonk) emerged, who from the statements has a role to, first, create a WhatsApp group containing the suspects, ER, JF, and TBR. In that group, they communicated and arranged how to get the substance etomedite in," Ronald continued.
The investigator then found the third suspect, EDS, who was at that time in Thailand and also part of that WhatsApp group. From the seizure of digital evidence, JF was identified as the creator of the group and the logistics organizer.
"In this group, a process was then carried out to discuss and arrange for the transportation of this etomidate substance from Malaysia to Jakarta," he explained.
The police stated that JF also arranged for ticket bookings, accommodation, and monitored the shipping process to ensure the goods passed inspection. The goods were eventually detected by customs as containing etomidate.
"The arrest of JF took place last Sunday, last night. Precisely around 6 PM to 7 PM, in the Bintaro area, and he is currently still undergoing intensive questioning by investigators," Ronald revealed.
"Indeed, from the results when the investigators picked up the suspect from Serpong, the suspect's health condition appeared to be poor, but he was cooperative in providing information," he concluded. /aal
