In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Kajol was asked about her role as Anjali in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. She stated that her version of Anjali would never wear a saree, but would instead pair sports pants with stylish expensive sneakers and still look good.

When asked who she would choose between Rahul (Shahrukh Khan) and Aman (Salman Khan), Kajol replied, “On a script level, I might choose Salman’s character, but in the film, if you watch, there’s no choice about the ending; it has to be that way.”
