10 Chronology of Ria Irawan's Struggle Against Cancer, Has Prepared Shroud Since 2014 Until Bald Hair

Kapanlagi.com - The beginning of 2020 started with some sad news. After Sule's ex-wife, Lina, passed away, this time Ria Irawan took her last breath, precisely on Monday (6/1) morning. Ria passed away at the age of 51 due to the cancer she had been suffering from for a long time.

Currently, the deceased's body is laid to rest at the funeral home located on Jalan Anggrek Lestari Blok N Number 11, Lebak Bulus, Jakarta. Meanwhile, on social media, a number of celebrities took turns expressing their condolences for the departure of the senior actress.

Ria is indeed a memorable figure. Her straightforward and genuine nature makes her easy to remember. Even during her treatment for the deadly cancer, she always appeared relaxed and full of humor.

1. Diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer in 2009

In 2009, Ria Irawan was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. The cancer attacked her uterine wall within a relatively short period of time.

In 2014, Ria decided to undergo a hysterectomy. Afterward, the condition of the film star JANJI JONI was reported to have improved.

2. Diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2014

After undergoing a hysterectomy, Ria received another bad news. Apparently, there was another cancer that had already developed in her body, namely lymphoma.

After undergoing periodic chemotherapy, once again Ria was declared cured. In fact, at that time, Ria continued her activities as usual.

"I'm healthy, still driving on my own. I still eat meat instead of having blood problems later and not being allowed to have chemotherapy, I don't want that. Maybe eating meat is not good for the cancer, but it's good for my blood, for my blood pressure and stamina, so I still eat meat. I'm sure people who hear this will complain," explained Ria when interviewed by the journalist team in November 2014.

3. Already Prepared Shroud

Knowing that she has a terminal illness, Ria has even prepared a shroud and a two-colored coffin cover just in case her life is not much longer. She did this because she was inspired by her fellow artist, Dorce.

"Yes, it's just symbolic (the shroud). Turns out Dorce has also prepared a shroud, washed it with zamzam water. She even gave the idea, she bought a two-colored cover for the coffin, and I want to follow suit. Later, if my condition, God willing, decreases from 6, it means I have time, but I don't know if I have to undergo radiation in January or not. But from 6, it could become 3, that's already a miracle. Even though it's free, there's still money in the treatment savings, so I want to perform Umrah, and I want to buy the cloth for the cover (of the coffin)," Ria said to the media in November 2014.

4. Shaving Her Hair Completely

During her chemotherapy, Ria Irawan's hair began to fall out and thin. Ria then did something so shocking, where she cut off her crown live on one of the television programs in the country.

The action taken by Ria was not without reason. She wanted to inject encouragement into herself, as well as other cancer fighters out there, so that they would not be ashamed of their condition.

5. Decide to Wear a Hijab

After her hair started to thin out, Ria began to look different. Yes, the friend of the late Julia Perez chose to wear a turban in every appearance.

Gradually, Ria began to replace her turban with a hijab. Her appearance at that time received a lot of praise and support from netizens. Many also prayed for her to recover from her cancer soon.

6. Released from Widowhood

After going through a series of bad news, in 2016 Ria finally felt a glimmer of happiness. Yes, at that time she was married to a man named Mayky Wongkar who was none other than her own personal assistant.

Their marriage was held simply and privately, precisely on December 23, 2016 at the Cilandak Marriage Office, South Jakarta. At that time, it was revealed that Mayky had long wanted to marry Ria, even he had tried to propose to Yuma Wiranatakusumah's ex-wife 4 times.

In the end, Mayky's struggle paid off as well. The proof of his sincerity of love was evident because he still wanted to marry Ria despite knowing the condition of his wife who was fighting against a deadly cancer.

7. Performing Umrah Together with Husband and Julia Perez

Shortly after getting married, Ria Irawan invited her husband to go on a pilgrimage. As is known, Mayky's status is a convert. Even at that time, Ria also invited Julia Perez who was also struggling against cervical cancer.

During their time in the Holy Land, Ria prayed to be declared 100% healed from the cancer that had been gnawing at her life for quite some time. She also prayed for JuPe's cancer to be lifted.

8. Disease Recurrence Due to Smoking

Since undergoing chemotherapy in 2014, Ria's condition has gradually improved. However, some unpleasant news emerged at the end of 2019, where her condition was said to have dropped again.

Her younger sister, Dewi Irawan, revealed on her Instagram account the vital reason why Ria's condition dropped again. Yes, Dewi mentioned that her sister was so stubborn and still actively smoking despite knowing that it was dangerous.

"The third time, it recurred again, now there are 3 significant points in the brain and 1 significant point in the lungs. What are you waiting for to quit smoking and vaping? It's poison! Please, don't be stubborn," Dewi wrote in her post at that time.

9. Visited by a Series of Fellow Artists

After her condition dropped, a series of fellow artists visited Ria at the Hospital, such as Ray Sahetapy, Tio Pakusadewo, and Aming. They also talked about Ria's condition at that time, which was fluctuating.

Meanwhile, her husband, Mayky, said otherwise. According to him, Ria's condition in November 2019 was fine and she had been taken back home.

10. Passing Away at the Age of 51

Today, Monday (6/1), Ria Irawan's battle against cancer finally came to an end. The deceased passed away at RSCM before her body was transferred to the funeral home located at Jalan Anggrek Lestari Blok N Number 11, Lebak Bulus, Jakarta.
