Asri Welas and Galiech Ridha Rahardja attended a follow-up divorce hearing at the Depok Religious Court on Tuesday (3/12/2024). They arrived simultaneously around 09:50 AM WIB. Asri Welas appeared in all-black attire with sunglasses. Although she seemed calm upon arrival, she could not hold back tears just before entering the courtroom.
Her husband, Galiech Ridha Rahardja, also appeared to maintain composure amid the media spotlight. When asked for comments by reporters before entering the courtroom, Asri Welas wiped her tears several times.
"There is no such thing as a family breaking apart, there isn't, we are still family just not husband and wife anymore," she said.
"There is no good divorce. Don't imitate it, but this (decision) was made because of our mutual agreement. So there's no such thing as a good divorce, it just has to be something we both agree on because we've talked about what's best," said Asri Welas at the Religious Court (PA) in Depok, Tuesday (3/12/2024).
The Susah Sinyal film star explained that this decision was made for the mutual good of all parties involved.
In the courtroom, an emotional atmosphere was also evident. Asri Welas occasionally wiped her tears in front of the panel of judges.
Asri emphasized that communication between herself, her husband, and their children is still going well. "It's still good, also good with the kids. Everything is good," she said briefly.
On that occasion, Asri Welas also revealed her reason for filing for divorce from her husband. She stated that there is a difference in principles that is the main cause.
"There is a difference in principles that we have been dealing with for maybe 4-5 years but haven't found a solution. This is a very difficult decision, but it's called a difference in principles. We have gone to a family psychologist," said Asri Welas.
"There is no such thing as an ex-family, I will still be the mother of my son. Mr. Galich will still be the father of my son, so we remain a family," concluded Asri Welas, then entered the courtroom.
Asri Welas & her husband have been married for 17 years. From this marriage, they have been blessed with three sons.
The 183 cm tall defender is one of the national team players with a very large fan base, alongside Pratama Arhan.
