South Jakarta Court Rejects Marriage Validation Request from Rizky Febian and Mahalini, Here’s the Reason

Kapanlagi.com - The South Jakarta Religious Court officially rejected the marriage validation request submitted by celebrity couple Rizky Febian and Mahalini. The decision was made because the guardian who married them previously was deemed not to be a rightful guardian, according to Islamic law.

According to the Public Relations of the South Jakarta Religious Court, Suryana, this couple is advised to conduct a remarriage with a legitimate guardian.

"So this is the court's decision on why it was rejected, because the guardian is not a rightful guardian, if the guardian is not a rightful guardian then how can he choose the correct guardian when he registers," said Suryana in his office on Monday (2/12/2024).

1. Known When Submitting a Marriage Validation Application

Furthermore, Suryana emphasized that if someone does not have a guardian, then the judge's guardian will take on that role.

"So when someone does not have a guardian, then their guardian is the judge's guardian. Well, the guardian will be chosen, either the judge's guardian or the head of the KUA, if fulfilled, that’s it. Indeed, their marriage is according to Islamic law, it does not have to be, so the process is not like that," said Suryana.

This decision is not intended to find fault or negligence on anyone's part. Suryana explained that this issue was only discovered when Rizky and Mahalini submitted a marriage validation application.

"We cannot say who is wrong, who is mistaken, who may not have paid attention in that case, but what is clear is that it has been revealed by them submitting a marriage validation application to the court, which was rejected by the court," he said.

2. Hoping It Won't Be Extended

This issue, according to Suryana, should not be prolonged to avoid polemics. He emphasized that the core problem lies only in the completeness of the marriage guardian.

"Now, the remarriage fulfills the requirements regarding the completeness of the guardian, that's it. Don't stray too far, as it may not be a legal solution since it is clearly just about the guardian," he said.

"After reading the verdict, it is finished; he just needs to study the decision. It is impossible for him to understand it immediately when it is read, perhaps through his attorney he will definitely consult," concluded Suryana.
