10 Portraits of Rico Lubis Revealing the Story Behind the Appearance of Grindboys, Apparently Starting from Wancoy Calling it 'Fish Bomb'

Kapanlagi.com had the opportunity to exclusively interview one of the members of Grindboys, Rico Lubis. He recounted the beginning of Grindboys on Gofar Hilman's YouTube channel.

"So initially, yes, the three of us were friends from high school. The content is called ngobrak, which Wancoy refers to as a fish bomb," said Rico Lubis during a conversation with Kapanlagi.com at the Tiger Wong Entertainment office, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (27/2/2024).

"I did say that at the beginning, so there are many requests because there aren't many podcast or talk show platforms that are among high school friends yet, not many, and our packaging is like a hangout place," added Rico Lubis.

It wasn't immediately implemented, after the idea of creating a podcast emerged, Gofar Hilman was very busy. In fact, according to Rico, Gofar didn't have time to discuss Grindboys' content.

"At that time, Gofar didn't have time. One and a half or two years later, it was actually me who interjected because at that time I was intensively meeting him (Gofar)," said Rico.

"I said, he seemed a bit stuck from what I remember. I said, Pay (Gofar), let's create content together, he agreed, it was fun. But, I want it to be as relaxed as possible. And then Grindboys happened," continued Rico.

Each episode of Grindboys not only entertains, but also presents a new perspective on various topics, from light to serious, in an enjoyable way. The stories they tell flow naturally, without any concept.

"Just walk, I really before before shooting a minute 'what language is this' only the election because we are as simple as three people, " he said.

Interestingly, the uniqueness in their storytelling style makes each episode a moment awaited by their loyal fans.

"When we tell this directly in front of the camera, the response is good. Because 'oh this is what you've been telling us all along, we hear it directly' there are colors, there are pictures, so it's organic, it's organic for us," concluded Rico Lubis.
