After almost 6 years of not releasing a new album, Rossa finally released an album titled ANOTHER JOURNEY: THE BEGINNING. This is the first album in the Rossa Album Trilogy series that will be released in 2023-2024. She also expressed her happiness because this is the first time she released an album from her own music label, Inspire Music.
“I feel very happy and grateful because finally I have the opportunity to make an album again. Thank you also to KFC for making it happen, being a partner for distribution throughout Indonesia in 750 outlets,” said Rossa during a press conference at KFC Kemang, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (22/2).
"This is my first album from a trilogy series that I will release in 2023 and 2024 under my own label, Inspire Music. And this is the first time for an Indonesian artist to release a trilogy album," he continued.
This album contains 10 songs, collaborating with several talented composers such as Yovie Widianto, Enda Ungu, Melly Goeslaw, Ryan D'Masiv, Glenn Fredly, Candra Darusman, and some other talented young composers like Andmesh Kamaleng, Mahalini, and Barsena.
For the flagship single of this album, Rossa chose the song titled Lupakan Cinta, composed by Mahalini and Martinus. Because according to her, this song has a very deep meaning.
"Usually, when releasing an album or single, I ask my close friends who are experts in making songs like Mas Yovie, Teh Melly, Enda, or others. But this time it's different, this is the first time after 25 years of my career, I invite talented young people to participate in my new album like Andmesh for the song Terlalu Berharap, Mahalini for Lupakan Cinta, and Barsena for the song Bertengkar Manis," explained Rossa.
The songs in this album contain the journey of her story during 2020-2022. She is grateful as a singer to be able to express her feelings through songs and be enjoyed by many people who have the same story.
"Not all of them are love stories. This is like a story that I went through in 2020-2022. Fortunately, because I am a singer, I can express it in songs, so it becomes my creation. It can also be heard by many people, so it's active, not just actively venting on my own social media or just telling stories to friends, but my venting can be enjoyed by many people," said Rossa.
Rossa also tells the story of her love with her ex poured into a song titled Masih (Still). At that time, Rossa wanted to try to forget him by deleting all his photos, but when her ex contacted her again, it turned out that the feeling of love was still there.
"So in this album Another Journey, it's not just my experience with one or two people. Like my old stories, maybe there's an ending in that year, in 2020. It's basically one of my experiences, so I deleted his photo, even though we have no contact at all, but when he contacts me, it's like 'wow,' turns out 'I still love you,'" Rossa explained while singing.
"Every person must have experienced something like that. So why did I turn it into a song, and it turns out that many people like it. That means many people have experienced the same thing," he concluded.
