10 Potret Indy Barends Reveals His Late Father's Previous Battle with Lung Cancer, Passed Away in the Bathroom

"We already conveyed yesterday (about his passing) at 21:22 WIB at the age of 77," said Indy Barends when met at Sinar Kasih Funeral Home, Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday (22/2).

Indy Barends explained that his father had been diagnosed with lung cancer but was only recently diagnosed about two months ago.

"Actually, my father has lung cancer but was only diagnosed a month or two months ago. Previously, he was treated but only in a hospital in Bogor and has not been accurately diagnosed," he explained.

"At this time, the lung cancer has spread to the lymph nodes in the armpits and neck. Lately, there have been many pains," added Indy Barends.

"Actually, the pain has been felt for a year now. My father is not the type of person who is spoiled or wants to be pitied, but this pain does make him look thinner," she continued.

However, according to Indy Barends, her father passed away in a fairly healthy condition. He had even planned to undergo chemotherapy the next day. She never expected her father to suddenly pass away.

"But the incident of my father's departure yesterday happened when he was not sick. In fact, on Thursday he was supposed to have chemotherapy, so he was happy because he was going to have chemotherapy, and there would be further action for his recovery," said this multi-talented presenter.

Indy Barends also revealed that her father passed away while wanting to take a shower and asked to be soaped by his wife. Suddenly, her father screamed and experienced shortness of breath until he took his last breath.

"So I was in the bathroom wanting to shower by myself and then my mom called, and my dad called my mom honey, please soap my back. Then my mom soaped my back and I wanted to shower but didn't want to," Indy said.

"Then my mom went out and suddenly my dad shouted for oxygen because he was having trouble breathing, and then he passed away," Indy Barends concluded.
