After the event, Pandji said, "There are so many people who have nyimeng before. Not to mention me, even Obama admitted to have nyimeng before. I'm even sure that SBY must have smoked ganja too."
That statement instantly became news in online media. Pandji's name went viral. Through his personal blog, Pandji responded. According to him, the context of the statement was a joke.
He then apologized. "If my joke went too far, then I hereby apologize. Sometimes, we will never know where the line is until we cross it. Now I know where the line is," he wrote.
In the same year, once again Pandji's stand-up material became the center of attention. At that time, he discussed the types of preachers and imitated their preaching styles. According to Popbela.com, he also criticized the takbir and the fatwa of MUI.
The video clip then circulated on one of the Instagram accounts. Many netizens claimed that Pandji had insulted Islam.

In 2018, Pandji's comedy material about mosque loudspeakers went viral. In that material, Pandji talked about the misuse of mosque loudspeakers near his house. According to Pandji, the mosque violated the law.
According to the law, mosque loudspeakers can only be turned on 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after the call to prayer. In the mosque near Pandji's house, the loudspeakers were used for children to learn the Quran.
The comedy sparked anger among some Muslims. According to them, Pandji had demeaned the religion by touching on religious properties. Not only that, Pandji was even brought to trial because of it.
“I once finished Friday prayers, I was approached by Mr. Haji, asked to sit down first, and was brought to trial in front of people who were taking off their shoes, about why my mosque loudspeaker jokes were like that,” he explained through his YouTube channel.
During the trial, Pandji presented his arguments. After the discussion took place, the issue was finally resolved. However, Pandji's name is still remembered by netizens because of the mosque loudspeaker jokes.
In 2018, Pandji received a call from the daily newspaper Pos Kota. At that time, Pos Kota highlighted Pandji's jokes that referred to the newspaper as synonymous with criminal news. What was considered burdensome was that Pandji compared Pos Kota to other media outlets.
Pandji responded to the call and provided clarification. He admitted to conducting research on the similarity between Pos Kota and criminal news. However, he still apologized openly through his YouTube channel.

In 2018, Pandji went viral again because of his jokes. At that time, he equated the theory of Evolution with Quraish Shihab's interpretation. According to Pandji, he felt obliged to believe Quraish Shihab's words. The main problem was that Pandji also dragged Farhat Abbas' name.
"If Quraish Shihab says it, why wouldn't I believe it? Unless it's Farhat Abbas who says it, then I would say, 'Hey, what are you talking about?' 'What are you doing?' 'You're being presumptuous'," said Pandji Pragiwaksono in the circulating video.
Not accepting this, Nia Daniaty's ex-husband called Pandji Pragiwaksono a disrespectful comedian. He didn't take it lightly and sent a legal notice of 2x24 hours for Pandji Pragiwaksono to apologize and repent.
Not staying silent, the 39-year-old comedian also stated that he had resolved this issue with Farhat Abbas. For Pandji Pragiwaksono, the issue is already settled.
"Coincidentally, we had a conversation, and after that, it turned out to be okay. Not only the controversial jokes in his stand-up special. Pandji's tweets also became the spotlight. In 2018, Pandji wrote about FPI and uneducated people.
"FPI should never be dissolved and must continue to exist. So that we know how uneducated people turn out," his tweet reads.
Unexpectedly, some of his followers did not agree with that. According to them, Pandji insulted uneducated people by equating them with FPI.

In 2019, a video clip of Pandji's special stand-up comedy performance circulated. At that time, Pandji performed a joke about cats. He referred to cats as 'kucing gembel' (beggar cats) because they like to beg for food.
This joke not only went viral but also received criticism, especially from the animal lover foundation, Garda Satwa Indonesia (GSI). According to them, Pandji could make others indifferent to stray cats.
GSI had a dialogue with Pandji, but Pandji chose not to apologize or respond to the protests received. He fully respects the criticism directed at him.
Pandji himself admitted that when creating the joke material, he had discussed it with cat lovers. Netizens appeared divided. Some supported Pandji and considered the joke context as mere humor. Others continued to condemn him.
Towards the end of January 2021, Pandji caused a stir on Twitter with his tweets about how he treats his employees. According to him, many people think that working with Pandji is a fun moment. He felt that was wrong.

Not long after his controversial tweet, Pandji became the center of attention again for being considered to insult NU and Muhammadiyah.At that time, Pandji discussed with a number of former FPI members about the issue of dissolving FPI.
According to him, dissolving FPI is pointless because similar organizations will emerge later.
"Dissolving it is pointless because there will be others, Front Pejuang Islam or others.Dissolving is pointless, like closing a porn site, it will eventually be opened again, there is no end to it," said Pandji as quoted from his Youtube channel.
What became controversial was when he mentioned that NU and Muhammadiyah were far from the people while FPI always provided assistance.
"FPI is present because the two major Islamic organizations (NU and Muhammadiyah) are far from the people.They are political elites, while FPI is close.If someone is sick and doesn't have money for treatment, (then they go) to FPI.Sometimes FPI gives money, sometimes FPI gives letters.The letters are taken to the doctor, so they are accepted," he continued.
Not only that, Pandji also quoted Tamrin Tomagola's statement. According to Tamrin, NU and Muhammadiyah are too elitist.
"According to Mr. Tamrin Tomagola, the doors of his house are open to FPI ulamas, so if people want to come, they can. But NU and Muhammadiyah are too high and elitist. People don't go there, people go to FPI," said the father of two children.
Pandji's statement went viral on social media. Pandji also responded. He emphasized that he was only quoting the statement of Tamrin Tomagola, whom he interviewed in 2012 on Hard Rock FM.
"Even though it was stated in the article that it was not my statement. I quoted the statement of Mr. Thamrin Tomagola, a sociologist. But, well, you know? Many people prefer to draw complete conclusions from fragmented information," Pandji wrote.
Pandji has discussed the habit of people asking for a 'friendship price'. According to him, this habit should not become a tradition. It's no wonder that Pandji then sets a higher price for the 'friendship price'.
"Why is the friendship price higher than the normal price? I said, because my friend values me more than others because he is my friend. He knows the difficulty of my work, even as a friend, he follows my process. He sees when I can't, he sees me struggle, he sees me fail and rise again because he is indeed my friend, so when he needs me, he usually gives a higher price than others," he said at that time.
One of the celebrities who is suspected of responding to Pandji's statement is Onad. Onad called the statement rigid through his Instagram story.
