12 Plaintiffs Lower Compensation Demands, Ustaz Yusuf Mansur Signals Reconciliation

Kapanlagi.com - The trial of the breach of contract case related to the joint venture of Hotel Siti that ensnared Ustaz Yusuf Mansur as a defendant was held again at the Tangerang District Court on Thursday (7/4/2022).

At the mediation hearing, both the plaintiffs and defendants were represented by their legal counsel.

"Today's mediation hearing is already the fourth one. We asked for a deadline, if possible, next week there will be an agreement," said Ichwan Toni, the plaintiffs' legal counsel, after the hearing.

In the mediation, Ichwan Toni, who did not want the trial process to go into the substance of the case, asked the defendant to fulfill the demands of his 12 clients in the mediation hearing.

"In the mediation, we have asked for a reasonable offer. It depends on their response. If they do not want to, then it will go into the substance of the case," he said.

In fact, in order to achieve reconciliation, 12 plaintiffs, according to Ichwan, agreed to lower the compensation amount that they originally requested to around 780 million.

"So it is no longer in the formula of the lawsuit, such as profit sharing and percentage of profits, we put that aside to achieve reconciliation. We ask for our principal and immaterial claims to be returned half of the formula that we proposed. A total of around Rp250 million for 12 people. We will distribute it evenly," he said.

Meanwhile, Yusuf Mansur's representative Ariel Mochtar seems to welcome the offer from the plaintiff.

"In several mediations that have been conducted, it has narrowed down to what, God willing, will become a reconciliation decision in mediation without entering into the substance of the case," he said at the same place.

However, he cannot yet confirm whether Ustaz Yusuf Mansur will accept the offer from the plaintiff. Moreover, in this case, it is not only Yusuf Mansur who is being sued.

"I cannot answer that yet, the result will be on April 14th. Hopefully there will be a meeting point. Let's just pray that it goes smoothly," he said.

As is known, 12 mothers who participated in the joint venture program for the construction of Hotel Siti filed a lawsuit against Ustaz Yusuf Mansur, PT Inext Arsindo, and Jody Broto Suseso at the Tangerang District Court last December.

The plaintiffs, who have been investing since 2012, are demanding Yusuf Mansur's promise to provide a profit-sharing of 8 percent per year from the invested capital.
