12 Portraits of the Cast of 'BESTIE 2' Series, Including Valerie Thomas and Patricia Gouw who Bring a New Color

One interesting thing about the first and second seasons is that they still carry a common thread, which is the four friends with 1001 problems. But the belief in love within this close friendship will also help them find 1001 solutions. 

Although these four friends were left behind by one of their friends, Sheila (Gege Elisa), who died in an accident, Bestie remains solid and always tries to give their time to Sheila's child, to replace the role of a mother for the child.

Meanwhile, Della Dartyan, who plays Vina, said that the second season has a more complex story. As a single mom who has to fight against a serious illness while raising her daughter alone after a divorce.

"Actually, Vina is more complex in the second season. In the first season, her life was never happy, she had already fallen and been hit by a ladder. In the second season, she finds love and happiness, but it turns out that problems arise again when cancer reappears," said Della Dartyan when met in the Gunawarman area, South Jakarta, on Monday (4/12).

To delve into the role of a cancer patient, Della Dartyan did a lot of research. "Well, if we talk about difficulties, there are definitely some because facing problems like that is tough. I asked for advice from several people, and it happened that my aunt from my dad's side actually had breast cancer. So, I asked her directly," she explained.

Meanwhile, Valerie Thomas, who plays Hana, said that in the second season she had to explore herself more. Hana is a woman who doesn't believe in love and commitment but eventually opens her heart.

"Hana is the most stubborn but the most loyal to her friends. In this second season, Hana has to explore areas outside her comfort zone," said Valerie Thomas.

Similarly with Aurra Kharishma, who plays Kiara, a beautiful artist who falls in love with the wrong person and chooses to change. She said in season two she becomes a more mature person.

"BESTIE 2 is definitely to further develop the character, because in season one she wasn't as mature as in season two. So how can I become wiser, more solid," said Aurra Kharishma.

This second season is even more colorful with the presence of Patricia Gouw, who plays the character Cathy. This is Patricia Gouw's first series project. She also admitted to learning a lot from life.

"From this series, I found so many problems that are very relatable to everyday life. Although each character in this series has their own problems, one thing that impresses me is that they support each other and stay united," he explained.

BESTIE 2 is a production of Sky Films, directed by Dinna Jasanti and written by Tisa T.S. Carrying the genres of drama, romance, and friendship, this series explores the premise of how these Besties have to rearrange their lives after going through various challenges, such as losing loved ones, heartbreaks, striving for work-life balance, and countless other problems.
