15 Chronology of Baim Wong & Paula Verhoeven's Divorce, From Initial Lawsuit to Official Separation: Child Custody and Alimony Distribution

Baim Wong filed for divorce from Paula Verhoeven on October 8, 2024. The lawsuit was registered at the South Jakarta Religious Court with case number 3477/Pdt.G/2024/PA.JS. The main reason for the lawsuit, according to Baim, is the betrayal by those closest to him, including his close friends.

At a press conference on October 8, 2024, Baim Wong mentioned that he has left home and is temporarily staying at his office. He recounted that in the first month after deciding to separate, he still regularly returned home to put his children to bed every night.

Over six months, the divorce process took place with much drama and various issues arising. One of the issues was regarding Paula's difficulty in meeting the children who are in Baim's custody.

Baim's legal counsel stated that the accusation claiming Paula is difficult to meet with the children is not true. According to him, children are not objects that can be forced to do something against their will.

This was proven by Paula's meeting with her children at Baim's house. Paula interacted with her two children before eventually saying goodbye.

The feud surrounding the divorce of Baim Wong and Paula Verhoeven continues. In mid-March 2025, a recording of a conversation allegedly between the two circulated on X. The recording was uploaded by the Pos Reference account on Friday (14/3).

The recording is divided into 2 parts with a duration of 1 minute and 50 seconds. The exact context of the conversation is not known. In the written description, it is suspected that Baim, Paula, and Paula's assistant are the parties involved in the conversation that touches on the deletion of CCTV to the issue of bonding with the child.

However, there is also a moment when Paula came to Baim Wong's house to pay her respects to Johnny Wong, who is Baim's father and also her father-in-law. Wearing all black, Paula stepped into Baim's house. She was relaxed even though she was not welcomed by Baim at the front of the house; Paula still walked into the home of the man who is currently in the process of divorcing her.

After more than five months of undergoing hearings at the South Jakarta Religious Court, rumors about a possible reconciliation between the two emerged. This issue arose after Baim uploaded a photo of himself with Paula and their children on social media. However, this issue quickly dissipated.

At the final moment before the verdict was read, Baim admitted that he did not want to prolong the issue on social media or in public. He hopes that all parties can restrain themselves to protect the feelings of his children in the future.

Baim Wong and Paula Verhoeven are now officially divorced. The decision was made by the panel of judges at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Wednesday (16/4/2025), marking the end of the marriage of the celebrity couple that had been built since 2018.

The custody of their two children, Kiano Tiger Wong and Kenzo Eldargo Wong, was decided jointly. Regarding the technicalities of the custody time-sharing, the Public Relations of the South Jakarta Religious Court revealed that the panel of judges took a middle ground with the best considerations for the children with a two-week alternating custody arrangement.

According to the Public Relations of the South Jakarta Religious Court, Paula's claim includes iddah maintenance for three months amounting to Rp600 million, madya maintenance for eight months amounting to Rp800 million, mut'ah amounting to Rp3 billion, as well as child support of Rp80 million per month plus education costs and daily needs.

However, in its ruling, the judge stated that Paula was proven to have committed nusyuz or a violation of her obligations as a wife. Based on that legal foundation, the requests for iddah and madya maintenance were automatically rejected.

Nevertheless, Paula still retains the right to mut'ah as a final gesture of respect from the husband to the divorced wife. The judge decided that the amount of mut'ah given by Baim was Rp1 billion, far from the Rp3 billion requested by the respondent.  

Recently, Paula Verhoeven finally spoke out regarding her divorce decision from Baim Wong, which mentioned allegations of infidelity. Paula denied the allegations when she visited the Judicial Commission in Central Jakarta on Thursday (17/4/2025). She believes the panel of judges made mistakes in considering the evidence and did not adhere to the facts presented in the trial. "I am quite sad because, in my opinion, this defamation has gone too far," said Paula while holding back tears.
