After officially being handed over to the South Jakarta District Attorney, Nikita Mirzani was finally taken to the Pondok Bambu Detention Center on Thursday (5/6/2025). She is undergoing legal proceedings for alleged extortion and money laundering reported by Reza Gladys. Nevertheless, she appeared relaxed, throwing smiles at the media crew.
Nikita's attorney, Fahmi Bachmid, confirmed that his client is ready to undergo all legal stages. The current condition is also part of the reasonable procedure in handling the case.
"It's just normal, because it's part of the process that must be gone through. We as advocates are used to legal processes like this. We inform Nikita that this process must be followed. We will just follow the process," said Fahmi when met at the Pondok Bambu detention center in East Jakarta recently.
Fahmi emphasized that they uphold the legal process with the primary aim of achieving justice. According to him, Nikita feels innocent and is confident that the accusations will not be proven.
"What is suspected to be an act of extortion, God willing, will not be proven in court. That is our belief because there are several elements that I do not need to mention, and that is key to this issue," said Fahmi Bachmid.
Fahmi has seen Nikita in detention and confirmed that the artist's condition remains stable. "She is in a relaxed state. I met her. I chatted with her. I explained, insyaallah on Wednesday we will have a hearing. The civil case is still ongoing. Even though she is in detention, it does not mean that Nikita is guilty of committing extortion," he stated.
When she arrived, Nikita appeared to be smiling widely with a relaxed demeanor. As a figure who often appears in public, Nikita is said to still respect the ongoing legal process. Even when her case file was declared complete, she did not show any signs of rejection.
"If Nikita feels confident that she has never done anything that she believes is illegal or constitutes extortion, she will surely remain strong. Because Nikita is sure that she does not feel she has committed extortion," Fahmi concluded.
