Even while serving his prison sentence, Zul Zivilia continues to strive to fulfill his role as the head of the family. His wife, Retno Paradinah, revealed that her husband still provides for the children despite the limited circumstances.

"Yes, that's right. Especially if there are visitors, he likes to fill the events, you know, busking like that, usually the money is collected and then given to the children, like that," said Retno when met in the Kapten Tendean area, Central Jakarta, on Friday (9/5/2025). Here are the details.

Retno stated that Zul always strives to remain responsible for his family. Although it is not easy, she is grateful that her husband does not shirk his responsibilities. "Still, even though this is the case, thank God his responsibility is extraordinary," she said.

For six years of living a separated married life, Retno has tried to adapt to the situation. She chose to remain faithful and shifted her focus to the children. "Yes, just making peace with the situation, because I also have entertainment every day, the kids, so at that time it just went on," she said.

Zul also continues to strive to create, even while behind bars. He still composes songs and entrusts his works to Retno so they can be sold outside. "What is produced is the same, it’s just songs. Sometimes he asks me if there's anyone who wants to buy a song, like that. But songs, the person doesn't mingle with the people, you know, this is music, that's the term," he said.

Zul does not give up on finding ways to remain productive. He even asked Retno if there was a chance that his songs could be bought by others. "But he mostly just asks if there’s anyone who might want to buy a song like that, so that he can also earn something outside of this," he added.

According to Retno, her husband already has plans for after he is released. Although not specific yet, Zul wants to discuss many things when the time comes. "Oh yes, that’s been the case for a while, he said he wants to talk first when he gets out. We’ll see what happens next."

Retno regularly takes the children to visit Zul at the prison. However, the frequency of visits is adjusted according to her schedule as a mother and makeup artist. "Once a month, sometimes twice. It depends, for example, if the kids are on holiday on Saturday, then I take them. But I can’t always go on Saturdays, sometimes I have to do makeup too," she said.

Although the children are still small, Retno tries to provide understanding gradually. She wants the children to accept reality in a way that does not burden them.
