Vadel Badjideh is now officially a suspect in the alleged sexual misconduct case against Nikita Mirzani, daughter Laura Meizani alias Lolly. Previously, Vadel Badjideh was scheduled to undergo examination at the South Jakarta Metro Police on Thursday, February 13, 2025. This examination follows a report submitted by Nikita Mirzani regarding the alleged sexual misconduct case.

Acting Head of Public Relations at the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Nurma Dewi, emphasized that this examination is an important step to continue the legal process. When asked whether Vadel's status as a reported witness could change to a suspect after the examination, Nurma responded accordingly. Let's take a look! /aal

"That will be the authority of the investigator. Tomorrow we will ask for a statement from VA in the case reported by NM. Clearly, if we talk now, we cannot, because we do not know yet. Just wait for it. VA is summoned tomorrow, the second summons, and also the statement from VA is what the investigator is waiting for," Nurma explained when met at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Wednesday (12/2/2025).

Previously, the investigator had sent the first summons letter on Monday, February 10, 2025. However, Vadel did not attend citing illness. Until now, the medical certificate promised has not been received by the investigator.  "However, yesterday on Monday it was officially received by the family, from VA's older brother," Nurma explained.

The second summons letter has been sent for the examination schedule on Thursday morning at 09:30 WIB. Even so, until Wednesday afternoon, there has been no confirmation whether Vadel will attend or not. "Just a moment ago I communicated, there is still no confirmation of attendance or not," said Nurma.

If Vadel is absent again without a valid reason, the police can take strict action in accordance with legal procedures. “If he is absent, under the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code 112, if he is indeed absent once, and twice absent, on the third time we will forcibly pick him up, that is the provision,” emphasized Nurma.

This examination must also be conducted with the accompaniment of legal counsel. If the legal counsel is unable to attend, the investigator will coordinate to ensure Vadel's rights are still fulfilled.

“It is mandatory if there is legal counsel accompanying. If the legal counsel is unable to attend, they will coordinate with the investigator, the rights are with the investigator,” explained Nurma.

After the examination was completed, the investigator proceeded with the case title. Based on the results, Vadel's legal status was raised to suspect. Following this, the police decided to detain Vadel for the next 20 days. /aal
