Maya Septha Shares Her Experience of Plastic Surgery in Korea, Undergoes a Long Recovery

1. Unforgettable Post-Surgery Experience

After undergoing surgery, Maya still feels the effects of the procedure. According to her, the results of the surgery are still not perfect and will take a few more months to look optimal. Currently, she is experiencing stiffness in her face, especially around her mouth, which makes it difficult for her to speak. Nevertheless, Maya remains optimistic and believes that all of this is part of the process of beautifying oneself, just like other beauty treatments.

The plastic surgery that Maya Septha underwent in Korea not only cost a lot but also required a long recovery time. In an interview, Maya revealed her difficult experience during the first week post-surgery. "The toughest part was the first week. My face was completely swollen, and when I looked in the mirror, I was like 'wow'. Plus, I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep. It was really stressful," said Maya when met in the Kapten Tendean area, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/2/2025).

During the first week, Maya felt her face was swollen and had trouble sleeping. "After the surgery, I found it hard to sleep because my body wasn't tired enough at night. Besides that, the limited food intake was also a source of worry," she revealed. Before heading to Korea, Maya was very disciplined in maintaining her diet and exercise. 'Before going to Korea, I was really into the gym and eating a lot of protein. So when there was no protein intake, just carbs and sugar, it really hit my mind,' she added.

2. Challenging Recovery Process

Although facing various challenges at the beginning of her recovery, Maya feels that her condition has started to improve after the first two weeks. "Total recovery takes six months to a year. This is only three and a half or four months. Now it feels very safe. Just a little bit of swelling left," said Maya. This indicates that the recovery process from surgery should not be taken lightly.

Maya also explained that she does not need to return to Korea for check-ups unless there is an urgent issue. After the first two weeks, the stitches were removed, and she feels that the results of the surgery have been satisfactory so far. "No need for check-ups in Korea. After two weeks, the stitches were gone. So far, everything is great," she said with gratitude.

3. Reflections and Plans for the Future

Even though she has faced various difficulties, Maya feels that this surgery was the right decision for her. However, she does not plan to undergo similar procedures in the near future. "The process is very long. So right now, no. Just the other day, I did it all at once so it would be done in one go," Maya concluded. This shows that even though she wants to look more beautiful, Maya remains realistic and does not want to get caught in an endless cycle of treatments.
