Kapanlagi.com - Who doesn't know SMASH? The boyband that once made Indonesian teenagers hysterical in the early 2010s has finally made a comeback. Formed on April 10, 2010, the group originally consisted of seven handsome men: Rafael, Rangga, Bisma, Dicky, Reza, Morgan, and Ilham, successfully reviving the boyband trend in Indonesia.
The success of SMASH is not only in music. They have also expanded into acting, starring in various soap operas and films. Unfortunately, their journey has not always been smooth. Changes in personnel occurred.
Morgan and Rangga decided to leave the group. However, in 2022, Rafael announced the good news that SMASH is back active with the remaining five members (Rafael, Bisma, Dicky, Reza, and Ilham)! They immediately hit the ground running with off air performances.

Speaking of career journeys, Rangga Moela and Dicky Prasetya, two members of SM*SH, recently shared interesting stories. They reminisced about the early moments of their journey, including the memorable experience of receiving their first payment.
"So there was a farewell party at Reza's school, it was actually just for fun to perform, to test like part of the training, but it turned out we were paid at that time," said Rangga when met in the area of Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Monday (10/2/2025).
Rangga explained that the payment they received at that time was very simple. "It was divided among seven, so it was 50 thousand per person," he said with a laugh. That moment became one of the valuable experiences for SM*SH, which was still in the stage of building their name at that time.
Dicky added that, although the amount was small, there was an important message they received at that time. "The message back then was, when you become famous and successful, you started from this small amount. You have to be self-aware and not let it get to your head," he said.
This first payment was received before SM*SH became a huge phenomenon. The seven members were still trying to introduce themselves to the public through various small performances. However, the message from that experience has remained with them throughout their career.
At that time, SM*SH was also undergoing quite an intense training period. They had to face various challenges, from vocal training, choreography, to public speaking. Rangga, who had just joined two weeks before their debut, admitted that the process was very short but full of pressure.
Now, with their career having soared, Rangga and Dicky feel grateful for their long journey. The story of their first simple payment has become a symbol of the spirit and hard work that brought them to the peak of success.
"Sometimes when we remember that, we appreciate every achievement more. From something small, now we can share more with others," Dicky concluded.
With a new single plan or concert, we can expect many surprises from SMASH in the future. Let's just wait for their latest works and performances that will surely be as exciting as before. Who knows, SMASH might make history again in the Indonesian music industry!
The journey of SMASH has indeed been full of ups and downs. However, their return proves that this iconic Indonesian boyband still has a place in the hearts of their fans. With a new formation and burning spirit, we should look forward to their latest works and continue to support their career journey in the future. Keep shining, SMASH!
