The Central Jakarta Metro Police have arrested Leon Dozan for alleged assault against his girlfriend. The young actor was apprehended at his residence on Thursday (16/11/2023) around ten o'clock at night.
Leon's status has now changed to a suspect and he has been detained. He is charged under article 351 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
The Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro, revealed the motive behind Leon Dozan's violence against Rinoa Aurora Senduk. Apparently, it was because Leon was jealous of Rinoa.
"The suspect had been in a relationship with the victim for approximately one year since October 2022. Then there was a feeling of jealousy after seeing chats and so on, so the suspect committed violence against the victim," said Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro in a press conference on Friday (17/11/2023).
The alleged act of violence caused Rinoa Aurora Senduk to suffer injuries in several parts of her body. This was revealed by Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro based on the results of the autopsy.
"The violence was carried out using hands, pulling, squeezing, and so on, resulting in visible injuries on the victim according to the autopsy. Based on the autopsy results, there were injuries on the hands, around the neck, thighs," explained Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro.
The police have also conducted a urine test on Leon Dozan. The result shows that the 26-year-old man is negative for drugs.
"We have conducted a urine test on the person in question and the result is negative for drugs and so on. The (assault) was done under emotions and because the person was jealous," he said.
Rinoa Aurora's mother, Julia Assad, speaks up about the alleged assault committed by Leon Dozan against her daughter. She said her daughter reported the case to the authorities on November 8, 2023.
After Leon Dozan was reported, Julia Assad stated that Leon Dozan's parents, Willy Dozan and Betharia Sonata, contacted her and apologized for their son's behavior towards Rinoa Aurora.
