8 Photos of Uya Kuya Speaking Out About the Fire Content in America, Denies Monetization

Uya Kuya has once again become the center of attention after his content went viral in the United States, drawing both support and criticism from netizens. This presenter and entrepreneur is said to be profiting from a video showcasing the aftermath of a fire in Los Angeles.

However, Uya dismissed these accusations by providing a lengthy explanation when encountered in the Senayan area of Central Jakarta on Tuesday (21/1/2025).

He revealed that the content was actually not created for social media or monetization purposes. The video, Uya said, was sent to media friends who requested it as material for news coverage.

"So, the point is what happened. We also didn't create TikTok content or reels. We only sent the video to media friends who requested images. And Lutfi there also didn't create YouTube content, because it was said that Uya was looking for monetization, AdSense. We didn't create social media content," Uya explained.

He also explained that if the goal was for social media content, the video would definitely be uploaded immediately after being taken. However, that did not happen.

"Actually, if we wanted to create content at that moment, we would definitely upload it right away. Because it went viral some time after that. But until now, there hasn't been anything, we just sent it to our media friends," he added.

Nevertheless, Uya acknowledged that the video received a variety of responses from the public, including criticism regarding empathy.

He emphasized that he and his team had asked for permission to take pictures, and even expressed apologies if anyone felt uncomfortable.

"The point is, if we are said to lack empathy, we have already asked for permission, along with dozens of others. And we say sorry, we have apologized. If you object, we have stopped, that's it," Uya asserted.

In addition to discussing his video, Uya also talked about his daughter, Cinta Kuya, who is quite well-known in America. He mentioned that some of Cinta's TikTok content has appeared on FYP (For Your Page) in America, thus attracting the attention of foreign netizens.
