Kris Dayanti brought a touching moment to her performance at Soundsfest 2025 held at Gambir Expo, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. This senior singer dedicated a special song to her late manager, Selby Anwar, who passed away last February.
The chosen song is titled I'm Sorry Goodbye, written by Melly Goeslaw, and performed by Kris Dayanti with deep emotion. She delivered the performance as a form of love and gratitude for someone who had accompanied her for more than three decades
"At that time, I was accompanied by one of the staff, like family. Not long after, he had to pass away," said Kris Dayanti during her performance.
The singer, commonly known as KD, also revealed that the song is not only for Selby but also for anyone who has left us before. She hopes that through this song, her feelings can be conveyed sincerely.
"This song is dedicated to anyone who has gone ahead of us," she said.
Kris Dayanti could not hide her sadness when reminiscing about Selby in front of thousands of spectators. She mentioned that Selby's departure has left a huge void in her life and work.
"I want to dedicate this song to my late manager who has accompanied me for 32 years and had to leave us two months ago. For Ms. Selby up there. This song is for our brothers and sisters who have passed 'I'm Sorry Goodbye,'" said Kris Dayanti.
This emotional performance became one of the most memorable parts of the second day of Soundsfest 2025. However, KD still delivered a maximum performance by singing several of her hit songs.
In addition to the dedication song, Kris Dayanti also sang Mencintaimu, Cobalah Untuk Setia, and Mahadaya Cinta.
The second day of this music festival was also enlivened by a lineup of top musicians from the country. Names like Hybrid Theory, Vierratale, Bernadya, Efek Rumah Kaca, Kahitna, and Denny Caknan also graced the Soundsfest 2025 stage.
