8 Portraits of 'Sukabumi 1980' Art Performance, Dewi Gita Performs Masculine Dance of Kandagan

'Sukabumi 1980' was successfully held on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Selabintana Conference Resort, Sukabumi, West Java. Taking place in Sukabumi, the audience was invited to reminisce about the atmosphere of Sukabumi in the 1980s when folk art performances were held in the midst of the local community.

This performance was organized by Titimangsa in collaboration with Bakti Budaya Djarum Foundation, featuring special performances by Ariel Tatum, Happy Salma, Donna Agnesia, Dewi Gita, and Kiara Anjar Candrakirana.

In addition, 'Sukabumi 1980' also presented traditional dance, karawitan music, and sinden performances, featuring local artists from Sanggar Seni Gapura Emas and Sanggar Gumintang. Titimangsa and Bakti Budaya Djarum Foundation hope that similar art performances can be presented in other cities in the future.

Ariel Tatum and Happy Salma perform the Jaipong Adumanis dance that excites the audience. Even their performances received tips from KLovers.

Dewi Gita and Kiara Anjar Candrakirana perform together as sinden singers. Their melodious voices are accompanied by poems about Sukabumi performed by Donna Agnesia.

In their second performance, Dewi Gita appeared more masculine in performing the Kandagan dance, which successfully mesmerized the audience.

Sukabumi 1980 is an art performance held to preserve Sundanese culture, especially in the 80s era. This cultural event was successfully hosted by Merwan Meryaman and Jeni Aripin.

Despite the foggy and cold weather, it did not reduce the enthusiasm of the audience who attended. This event was successfully held and ended with a 'people's' atmosphere.
