10 Portraits of Mawar de Jongh Releases Single 'Cinta Aku Bisa Apa', Stories About Struggles and Letting Go of Someone

Mawar de Jongh released her latest single titled Cinta Aku Bisa Apa. During the press conference for the release of her song in Kota Kasablanka, South Jakarta, on Thursday (9/11), Mawar de Jongh talked about the meaning of the song, the recording process, and the making of the music video. Here is the complete portrait!

Mawar de Jongh admitted that when she first heard this song, she immediately liked it even though it was quite difficult to sing due to its varied tones.

"This song is quite challenging because there are some parts that are quite difficult to sing. The melody is also diverse, some parts are high and low. I also filled in the backing vocals myself. I took several takes during the recording, but I felt comfortable and happy because my team was very supportive," she said.

The song, composed by Tintin and Gayatri Chandra, tells the story of someone who tries and fights to maintain their relationship, but not with their partner who chooses someone else.

"This song tells the story of a couple who have struggled with their relationship but, for example, if they don't get approval, they can't continue with 'I can't be with you anymore' or maybe like 'I don't see a future with you, sorry' so I have to get to know someone else," said Mawar de Jongh.

In that occasion, Mawar de Jongh was also asked about what if in real life her relationship with her partner is not approved by her parents.

"Actually, we should know the reason first why it's not allowed, if the reason is strong enough, then what can I do, I will still love him," answered Mawar de Jongh.

Meanwhile, for the music video directed by Ica Lawendatu (BAM Pictures), it carries a theatrical concept and uses motion control technique. Surely, this is a new experience for Mawar de Jongh.

"The music video is very interesting and it shows a lot of scenes where I cry. The challenge is that I have to be more aware of the camera movements and my movements have to be precise. I also have to remember some lyrics that are reversed for lipsync in some scenes," said Mawar de Jongh.

Mawar de Jongh hopes that her latest single can be liked and accepted by the community, especially those who are experiencing a story similar to the one in the song 'Cinta Aku Bisa Apa'.

"Through this song, I hope to accompany friends who have the same story as the song. It's okay to cry when feeling sad, we can celebrate through this song, and then be happy afterwards," Mawar de Jongh concluded.
