Kapanlagi.com - For the past five years, actress Deswita Maharani hasn't been able to go home to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in her husband's hometown in Bandung, West Java. This is because her mother-in-law is in Jakarta and currently sick.
"Usually we go home, but for the past five years, we haven't been able to," Deswita Maharani said when met in Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (2/4/2024) night.
It is known that Ferry's mother suffers from dementia. Currently, she can only lie in bed and still has to go back and forth to the hospital for examinations.
"Ferry's parents are in Jakarta and my mother-in-law suffers from dementia," said Deswita.

As someone who doesn't have a hometown, or a person from Jakarta, Deswita wants to be like most people who are willing to endure traffic jams just to gather with family.
"I'm originally from Jakarta and only experienced going back to hometown after marrying my husband," explained the woman born on December 7, 1980.
However, the former lover of Taufik Hidayat understands the condition of her mother-in-law who has been suffering from dementia for the past five years.
"My mother-in-law can only lie down on the bed and we celebrate Eid in Jakarta only," said Deswita Maharani.
2. The Beginning of Dementia
Deswita said that her mother-in-law has been experiencing dementia for the past five years due to her old age. Moreover, about two years ago, she fell down and now can only lie down on the bed and it's difficult for her to return to normal like before.
"Every month she goes to the doctor for blood tests, and every week her nerves are stimulated," Deswita concluded.
