Accepting the Role as a Night Woman, Aghniny Haque Confused and Unable to Sleep Before Shooting 'GOD, ALLOW ME TO SIN'

Kapanlagi.com - Aghniny Haque was chosen as the main actress in the film titled GOD, ALLOW ME TO SIN. The drama, directed by Hanung Bramantyo, is adapted from a controversial novel published two decades ago.

Aghniny plays the role of Kiran, a female student who decides to become a night woman out of anger towards God. Playing the role of Kiran makes this 26-year-old actress enthusiastic. But on the other hand, she is also confused because she knows it can generate pros and cons.

"Honestly, when I was offered the role, I was excited but also confused about how to face it. It's like the process of a person finding their spirituality, but also protesting against God. Before shooting, I was extremely confused and anxious, unable to sleep," said Aghniny when met at Empire XXI, Yogyakarta, Friday (1/12/2023).

1. Feeling Islamized Again

Playing the character Kiran when she becomes a prostitute, Aghniny Haque didn't have any significant difficulties. In fact, when asked to play Kiran as a religious student version, director Hanung Bramantyo felt that Aghniny had a hard time getting into that character.

"Mas Hanung didn't believe it, that I could play adult Kiran, but had trouble playing the religious student version. I wasn't sure, Mas Hanung wasn't sure, so I was confused. Then finally, I prayed together with Mas Hanung, and I felt like I was being Islamized again. He recited the shahada and its meaning to me. From there, I felt enlightened," said Aghniny.

2. Wanting a Different Role

Among the many actresses offered the role of Kiran, only Aghniny Haque was willing to be involved. Aghniny felt it would be a waste to reject a role in this MVP Pictures production that would not come twice.

"I couldn't believe being invited to shoot by Mas Hanung, this is a rare opportunity. I have been known as an actress for a while, so I wanted some refreshment," concluded Aghniny.
