Acknowledge Love Indonesia, Terry Putri Does Not Want to Change Nationality to the United States

Terry Putri is now in Indonesia because her stay permit in America is almost expired, and her plan is to stay in this homeland at least until next year.

"In America, they stay for 6 months, but I left America a few days earlier, but I can't go back immediately. It takes a few months, if I go back after only a month there, I'm afraid of being suspected," said Terry Putri when met at halete Tosaro, Central Jakarta, recently.

Terry Putri feels the need to stay in Indonesia for a few months to avoid arousing suspicion when she returns to America. She is afraid of being considered an illegal immigrant by the authorities.

"I'm afraid of being considered an illegal immigrant, so I will stay here for a few months, at least until next year," she said.

1. Concerns About Residence Permit

Initially, Terry planned to return to America after 3 months in Indonesia. However, he is concerned about the residence permit issue, which may be difficult to obtain if he returns to the United States too soon.

"My intention is to stay in Indonesia for three months, but I'm afraid it might not be possible. Maybe it's safer to stay for four or five months. I'll probably go there early next year," he said.

Terry actually has the option to apply for a green card and settle in America. Her husband also suggested this so that Terry can pursue a career while staying in America.

"I don't want to because I love Indonesia and want to come back here. Yes, he agrees, we will both return to Indonesia," Terry explained.

2. The Feelings Remain the Same

Although Terry Putri and her husband have different nationalities, what matters most is their shared feelings. Her husband already has a green card and is an American citizen, but Terry remains an Indonesian citizen and they will journey through life together.

"That's our family, my husband is a citizen there but I'm still an Indonesian citizen and we walk together. Our marriage is like that, sometimes it's strange and confusing. But oh well, what matters is that our hearts are together," Terry Putri concluded.
