Active in Creating, How Mutia Ayu Continues Life After Glenn Fredly's Departure

"I didn't leave the house for a year (after Glenn passed away). For two years, I fought against myself to be able to rise again. After three years, I can finally make peace even though thoughts about Glenn's departure still come up, but I have to focus on my current life, so now I can accept it more gracefully," said Mutia Ayu in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Friday night (28/7/2023).

One of the ways Mutia Ayu did to overcome her pain is by continuing her activities as a dangdut singer. "(Returning to work) is one of the ways to distract myself from the sadness after Glenn Fredly's departure. I always seek activities to avoid being too focused on the deceased's departure," said Mutia Ayu.

1. Forming a Music Label

He then formed a music label and released his works again. There have been five songs released. The latest one is a song titled 'Korban Buaya' (Victim of a Crocodile), a duet with Novi Aurellya.

"The world that raised me is dangdut music, coincidentally my friends and my environment are dangdut singers, so why not create Melodi Musik label to help my friends sing and be recognized. Now there are already five singles, with the latest one being Korban Buaya," said Mutia Ayu.

2. Must Be Able to Rise

As a single mother, Mutia admitted that she must be able to rise and find income to support her child, Gewa Atlana Syamayim Latuihmallo.

"I always keep myself busy with my work, taking care of my child, basically always looking for money to support Gewa. Now I have to be stronger, because my children are not only Gewa. But also the talents in my label. It turns out that managing talents is not easy. But this is my life's journey, honestly, I'm happy because this is my first experience in creating a label, it's exciting," she said.
