Adapted from Risa Saraswati's Second Book, 'Rumah Sandekala' Challenges the Bravery of Lovers of Mystical Stories

Rumah Sandekala itself is a story of an old house that is legendary in a small village in West Java. It is told that an old house inhabited by a respected Sunda descendant family in their hometown.

The owner of the house is usually called Nyai Sukma by the surrounding people. She is a famous dancer and singer, who supports her two sons named Barna and Bagja.

2. The Story of Rumah Sandekala

As an adult, Barna lived happily with his wife, Ayara, and their three children, Ekal, and twin daughters Rara and Roro. Barna has a younger brother named Bagja who works outside the city.

However, the peace in this family's home suddenly shattered and left a mystery. Nyai Sukma, who was aging, began to be depressed because her job as a singer was no longer needed and began to be abandoned by people.

Because of Nyai Sukma's ego and ambition to continue to exist, she performed black magic rituals and made a forbidden pact with the devil. Although this made her career and work shine again, she had to pay a high price by sacrificing one of her children.

Knowing this, Barna became angry and decided to fight back by learning and worshiping supernatural things. This revenge had an impact on the peace of Barna's small family.
