1. Admitting to Being Sad

Salshabilla Adriani, as the female lead in MALIK & ELSA, was initially sad to find out that the film, which was supposed to be released in April, had to be postponed without explanation due to the pandemic. However, she later became happy after being informed that her latest work could be watched through streaming services starting from October 9, 2020.

"In March, we started promoting the film where it was supposed to be released in theaters in April. Just as we were promoting it, in the middle of it, we were told that we couldn't continue. It was really sad. But after being connected with Disney+ Hotstar, I'm happy. Through this platform, we can introduce MALIK & ELSA to the public," said Salsha as quoted during a press conference session via Zoom last week.

2. Difficult Adaptation of the Role of Elsa

The role of Elsa, played by Salshabilla Adriani, is portrayed as a student living in the city of Padang. Although it may seem easy, in reality, Salsha encountered many obstacles.

"Actually, adapting the character of Elsa was a bit difficult because I was often reminded that I speak very fast, while Elsa speaks slowly. And Elsa is indeed a city girl, but I was asked to differentiate between a Padang city girl and a Jakarta city girl. After talking to the writer and director, it eventually became easier. It's the nature of a character, getting a new role, there will always be difficulties at the beginning," said the 20-year-old Jakarta-born actress.
